Modern Sanctuary
Description
40 year-old modern house beautifully restored. Interesting architecture/original wooden details throughout the place. Attention to decor/comfort. House meticulously cleaned Security cameras located outside the property and in the back yard. Car rental recommended House is 10 min. to the center of the city. Uber reliable but not so much on major holidays. *2 SHY CATS ON THE PROPERTY *NO SMOKING INSIDE THE HOUSE *NO PARTIES ALLOWED *POOL EQUIPMENT NOT FOR GUESTS TO ACTIVATE/HANDLE The space Property is in an upscale quiet neighborhood near parks, stores, restaurants. It took years to renovate and I'm proud of what it's been accomplished. I ask my guests to please treat my house as if it was your own. Enjoy the experience, hopefully you'd want to stay again in the future! House is spacious, comfortable and relaxing. It has lots of natural light and great energy. Property is right next to a park and birds and squirrels often come to visit. If you pay attention, sometimes you can hear the lion from the zoo roar. Enjoy the always beautiful Durango sky! Durango is very hot in June, July, August and very cold in November, December, January We have AC/ heater system ONLY in the 3 bedrooms upstairs. Not in the rest of the house. The 4th bedroom was meant to be for live-in help. It's small but still has a full bathroom and a comfy mattresses in the bunk beds. Please note that we only use the AC/heater AT NIGHT for the hot and cold moths which are: June, July, August and December, January, February. The rest of the moths are really nice at night and there's no need for AC/heater. These units consume lots of electricity, we use them only at night for a comfortable sleep. We have portable heaters and fans that can be moved around the house. In hot weather we leave windows and doors open so air flows in. We have a ping pong and foosball tables for the play/TV room. PLEASE make sure the game set (paddles/ balls) are together after each use. We hope to keep the set intact so we and future guests can enjoy too. PLEASE NOTE: Master bedroom has a large window with no curtains. Do not worry about privacy. The room faces the park which is a lot lower than the house. I have been to the park at night and nothing can be seen even if the lights in the bedroom are on at night. Also, the house has windows in the north/south direction so the sun doesn't hit the rooms directly. PLEASE NOTE: -House not ideal for elderly people with limited mobility. The house has three levels and there are stairs everywhere, inside and outside. -Pool equipment room is locked. We only allow house crew and pool service people handle the pump/filter and other pool-related mechanics. -Pool is closed from November to March. -Jacuzzi is not active any time of the year. PLEASE NOTE: No parties allowed. We are in a quiet neighborhood, it is not fair/respectful to disturb our neighbors. PLEASE NOTE: please do not have more people than agreed. Large groups in the house can have an impact on gas/electricity consumption and increases the wear and tear, etc. If you think you'll have one or 2 more people extra (fee is $20 per person ) let me know, we can accommodate with an extra mattress/air mattress but I'd like to be informed. Good communications is very appreciated. PLEASE NOTE: If you have small children please supervise at all times, there are stairs all over the house and the pool is not fenced. PLEASE NOTE: Damaged/missing goods will be charged. A dispute will be opened via Airbnb to mediate the case. PLEASE NOTE: Durango is known for its infamous scorpions. They do show up sometimes and if stung you must go to the emergency room. We do fumigate the house often so it's rare to see one. In almost 9 years I've seen a few scorpion alive (outside by the cactuses) and a 2 dead after fumigation inside. Thank you so much for staying at our place, we are thrilled to have you ! :) Guest access Guests will have access to the entire house. Pool is available from mid March- early November but PLEASE keep and eye on kids and non-swimmers. At one end the pool is deep. Little kids have to be supervised at all times as pool is not fenced or enclosed. Pool equipment is NOT handled by guests. Other things to note -If booked for a week or longer, we highly recommend that our guests accept cleaning service once a week at no extra cost. It gets dusty and the place is much more enjoyable when nice and clean. -In the laundry room you'll find cleaning essentials if you think the kitchen floor needs a quick mop or if you need a broom or dustpan, garbage bags, etc. -Garbage collection happens early (before 7AM) on MON-WED-FRI. If you think you have a good number of garbage bags, please place them outside the night before so they're picked up on Mon, Wed, Fri morning - The faucets in the bathrooms may act up a bit after a period of no action. probably there's air trapped and water shoots up ad will get you if you're right in front. After regular use water runs down smoothly. -Always nice to open the doors and two sliding doors/windows in the main room for air flow. Just make sure screens are in place to avoid access to flies and other insects. -Feel free to use condiments and spices in the kitchen. IMPORTANT !! ----> Durango is high up above see level. Take the first few days to relax and adjust. Drink water often and avoid drinking alcoholic beverages during the adjusting days or the hangover will be super bad. -The sun in Durango is very very strong, bring hats/ sun lotion.
