Boshuisje Wateren II is nestled in a fairytale forest garden of 2,200m² filled with firs, rhododendrons, and heather — right on the edge of the Drents-Friese Wold. Wake up to birdsong, step outside, and you are in nature. In the evening, after a long walk, light the wood stove inside or outside. A lovely spot for two couples or a family. The space Picture this: you open the door in the morning and look out over 2,200m² of woodland garden — all yours, fenced, no neighbours in sight. Large spruces, flowering rhododendrons and heather around you, and every now and then a bird or squirrel that darts by. This is how a day in Boshuisje Wateren II begins. The cottage itself is modest in size but complete — stylishly furnished with luxury box springs, wood stove and large windows. Suitable for 1–4 people. Ideal if you really want to get away for a while. Living room: Spacious living room with large windows — you sit inside but feel outside. The wood-burning stove makes it wonderfully cozy even on cool evenings. Furthermore, a TV, fiber optic wifi, Bluetooth radio and a cupboard full of board games, bird guides and books. No rush, no agenda. Kitchen with a touch of nostalgia: Everything there for good cooking. Nespresso and filter coffee, combi oven and all the necessary stuff. Upon arrival you will find coffee, tea and the basic essentials ready. Bedrooms: Two quiet bedrooms, each with blackout curtains and mosquito nets. Bedroom 1 has a luxury box spring of 160x200 with Matt mattress. Bedroom 2 has two box springs of 80x200 — can be used as two single beds or together as a spacious double bed. You sleep well here, we promise. Bathroom: Functional and complete — shower, heated towel rail and separate toilet. Vintage for a reason: we don't replace what works well, it fits who we are. The garden — this is what you do it for: whether you look out from the living room or sit on one of the terraces. following the birds, eating outside, relaxing in the lounge chairs or stoking the fire in the evening. Surroundings: Wateren is situated just right — quiet and secluded, yet with enough in the surrounding area to make every day different. Step out of the garden and you are in the Drents-Friese Wold: forests full of ferns and moss, open heathlands, and sand drifts that you won't find anywhere else. Climb the observation tower at Appelscha or the Doldersummerveld for panoramic views, or cycle past the authentic village greens and cozy restaurants in the area. Fancy a nice dinner in the evening? Restaurant Onder de Eiken or the Bospub are local favorites. Giethoorn, the Weerribben, and the Dwingelerveld are easily accessible for a day out. There is also plenty to do for children: play games in the garden, or head out to special children's trails in the forest, climbing parks, forest playgrounds, pancake restaurants, and petting zoos. Walk the dog to the paddling pool at the Canadameer and further on to the off-leash area. Rental bikes are delivered to your home by appointment, and we send a comprehensive tips email in advance.
