Boshuisje Wateren I is nestled in a fairytale-like, enclosed forest garden of 1,500m² on the Boterpol, right on the edge of the Drents-Friese Wold. When you open the door in the morning, you step straight into nature. Baking pizzas in the outdoor oven, children on the trampoline, lighting the wood stove in the evening — this is a stay everyone will remember. For 1–5 people, dogs welcome. The space On the Boterpol in the village of Wateren, this detached forest house is surrounded by greenery. The fenced forest garden of 1,500m² borders directly on the Drents-Friese would — you literally walk into nature. The garden is very private and so spacious that you feel like you are in your own private forest. Many visits from birds and if you are lucky also squirrels in the garden. The cottage is attractively decorated and has everything a family or couple needs for a wonderful stay — with an emphasis on outdoor living, good food and real tranquility. Living room: Spacious living and dining room with cozy sitting area, wood stove and large windows overlooking the garden. From the bench, follow how birds and squirrels flutter in and out of the garden. Playing a record from the LP collection in the evening while the fire crackles — that's the holiday feeling you come for. Kitchen: Fully equipped with dishwasher, combi oven, fridge-freezer and all the cooking utensils you need. Nespresso and filter coffee machine available. Upon arrival, you will find a basic supply of coffee, tea, oil, salt and pepper. Bedrooms: Three bedrooms on the first floor — spacious enough for a family or two couples. The master bedroom has a double bed of 160x200, the second a bed of 140x200 and the third a single bed of 90x200. All rooms have blackout curtains and mosquito nets for a good night's sleep. Travel cot and high chair available. Bathroom: Modern bathroom with shower, sink, towel radiator and toilet. Garden — the heart of this cottage: The woodland garden is where this cottage really stands out. The large south-facing terrace is sunny and has an outdoor dining table and a covered gazebo. The outdoor wood-burning stove has a built-in pizza oven — ideal for an evening of baking pizzas yourself. In addition, a separate BBQ, trampoline, play rack with swing and rings, and a large Fatboy hammock. This is a play paradise for children; For parents a place to finally really relax. Indoor entertainment: Record player with LP collection, board games, Lego, books for all ages and TV. Practical extras: Wifi (fiber optic), washing machine and dryer, two sheds on the property. Charging electric car via 220V (costs based on consumption, please notify in advance). Surroundings: De Boterpol is one of the most beautiful starting points for cycling and walking routes in the Drents-Friese Wold. Step outside and choose your direction — forest, heath, sand dunes, or picturesque village greens. Take the walk to the lookout tower on the Doldersummerveld or the Bosbergtoren near Appelscha for a panoramic view of the entire area, or cycle past the authentic ribbon villages and megalithic tombs in the vicinity. For mountain bikers, challenging trails are just around the corner. And for those who prefer swimming: the forest pool in Diever or the Blauwe Meer are both highly recommended. With children, no day is ever boring: climbing parks, forest playgrounds, pancake restaurants, and petting zoos are located a short distance away. Giethoorn and Assen are easily accessible for a day out. Rental bikes can be delivered and picked up by appointment. For dogs: various off-leash areas and a paddling pond nearby. Bed linen and towels can be booked optionally for €16 per person — or bring your own. Firewood for the wood stove and outdoor oven is available for purchase at nearby hardware stores and petrol stations, or you can bring it yourself.
