Located in the heart of the Nakasendo Road, at the foot of the Kiso-Koma Highlands, is “Ryojoan,” an old traditional house built 150 years ago. This small Japanese-style room is great for solo travelers or couples.From the windows, you can enjoy views of the fields and mountains. ▼Summer At night, you can hear the calls of frogs and insects, as well as the bugling of deer in the distance, and in the morning, the birdsong is lively. On summer nights, the temperature is around 20°C (68°F).There is no air conditioning, so you can use just the fan. ▼Winter In winter, the temperature can drop to 15°C (59°F) below freezing, and on rare occasions, you can see diamond dust.There is a wood-burning stove in the common area, and a kerosene fan heater is provided in the room.These are very typical amenities found in a home in a mountain village. ▼Eating It is a no meal stay. Feel free to cook in the shared kitchen where everyone gathers.It is fully equipped with cookware and tableware. ▼- Transportation It is a 25-minute bus ride from Kiso-Fukushima Station and a 3-minute walk from the Ohara-Kami bus stop. There is also a parking garage. ▼ My home This place used to welcome travelers as a youth hostel.We are currently living with family, but we are in the process of returning to a place where we can easily stay again. We are a small family, and we will welcome you along with our children, aged 7 and 4. The space The accommodation is a 4.5 tatami mat Japanese-style room that can accommodate 2 people. Guest access You can use the shared living room with a wood-burning stove, the kitchen, the bath (shower), the toilet, and the washroom. During your stay Basically, either of us, the hosts, are at home. In the shared living room, the children are also playing. Please feel free to call us. Other things to note We have a 7-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl, and they sometimes play in the shared living room.It can be noisy, but we would appreciate it if you could play with us. As a general rule, check-in is after 5 pm and check-out is by 10 am. Please consult with us in advance for early check-in or late check-out.There will be an additional fee of 3,000 yen for each.
