Surrounded by a beautiful tea farm and fresh country air, it’s a place where time seems to slow down. Whether you like to enjoy warm fires, bathing/showering under the stars, taking a walk in the expansive farm to the springs or interacting with the farm animals, our retreat offers it all and will leave you feeling recharged! The space The Farmhouse is set on a lush 85 acre tea estate in the rolling hills of Tigoni, just 30 minutes from Nairobi. Built in the early 1920s and recently renovated, the property has everything you need to make your stay comfortable and memorable. Inside the space, you’ll enjoy fresh linens, soft towels, and all the essentials for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is fully equipped with coffee, tea, spices, drinking water, and everything you need for home-style cooking. You’ll also have fast Wi-Fi and a cozy indoor fireplace for those cooler evenings. And for a nostalgic touch, there’s a vintage vinyl and CD player with a small collection, perfect for slow evenings. And for book lovers, we have over 100 books for you to settle into! Water supply is reliable and stored on-site, and the power system includes backup to keep everything running smoothly even during rare outages. Outside, an open-air bath and shower let you enjoy a refreshing soak beneath the stars in complete privacy. Guests are welcome to explore the rolling tea fields that are perfect for scenic walks, trail runs, or peaceful bike rides. Around the property, farm animals roam freely, and you’re welcome to join the daily milking at 6 p.m. Fresh organic produce including spinach, kale, cabbage, potatoes, green maize, and milk are available on request, along with homegrown herbs just steps from the house. Guest access In addition to the Farmhouse, guests can explore the 85 acre tea estate. In the afternoon, the farm manager offers a short tea picking lesson, a stroll to the waterfalls and shares the history of the farm at an additional fee. Other things to note Our stay is on a self catering basis, but we have private chef on call at an additional fee, whether you bring your own ingredients or ask him to shop for you. In the evenings, you also request an outdoor movie setup (with a wide selection) at an additional fee.
