The towering trees create a virtual cathedral encircling the house, reaching over 200 feet to the heavens, humbling with their length of limb as equally with their length of life. On a sunny, south-facing knoll above a gurgling mountain brook is an incomparable lodging experience with every modern amenity in a private nature preserve. 12 minutes outside the quaint, old-west town of Calistoga that is home to restorative thermal waters and world-renowned mud baths and spas. 15 minutes to the center of either the Sonoma Valley or Napa Valley. 1.1 hrs from the Golden Gate Bridge. FEATURES OF THE ESTATE This historic property is built for time travel. All furnishings, decor, and appointments are antiques and mementos of life in the late 19th century when the West was being won. If only the furnishings could talk, what stories they could tell!! A 75-foot deck cantilevers over the infamous Humbug Creek. A large firepit is the perfect place to gather and share tall tales and intimate moments. The hot tub is state of the art, with custom jet packs providing hydrotherapy message. A library is filled with period material as well as current analysis of the days of yore. An ever-growing video library offers the best old westerns and documentaries to instruct about the western progression of American settlers, outlaws, and adventurers. We are the only villa rentals with full-time, onsite staff. At any other vacation rental, you self-check-in and are on your own for the duration, not so with us. We do not simply deliver groceries and book a chef - we assist with all aspects of your stay: transport, all meals, restaurants, and unmatched touring itineraries. ACCESS THE INACCESSIBLE ~ WINE & WINERIES We have built relationships with hundreds of wineries in both counties to be able to provide our guests membership-level access to limited-production private tastings, winemaker dinners, or classes of choice. The local aficionados teach that the best wine made in Napa stays in Napa. This means that the most precious production is small and is not sold nor is available outside of the valley. Our on-staff wine expert can curate one-of-a-kind tours and private events tailored to guests’ preferences and budget. Ask us anything - we love to surprise. Pls note that any other rental will relegate your wine touring to a transport company that then organizes your wine tours. We have the expertise, based on years of study, to curate a noteworthy itinerary of tastings for the novice to the collector. EVENTS We have access to many nearby rural event facilities and wineries or can help you locate a backroads venue of choice ~ ideal for corporate meetings, dinner parties, and private celebrations. This listing describes a combination of several estates, potentially yielding up to 15 bedrooms combined. AIRPORTS ~ A WORD TO THE WISE We are 1.75 hours from the international airports of San Francisco, Oakland, and Sacramento. We strongly recommend, when possible, using the regional airport in Santa Rosa, 30 minutes from the house, with numerous daily flights arriving from Burbank, Bend OR, Denver, Dallas, Las Vegas, Orange County, Palm Springs, Phoenix, Portland, San Diego, Seattle, San Francisco, LA. This saves a combined 4 hours round trip plus endless concourses.
