Description
Discover the charm and comfort of Spruce Bear Cabin, a newly built, custom-designed getaway completed in May 2025 by its owners, Marques and Teal. The cabin features unique finishes throughout, including wood trim milled from trees found right on the property. Set on 10 private acres just outside Moose Pass, the cabin offers mountain views from every window. Keep an eye out for black bears and mountain goats, often seen roaming the surrounding mountainside during the summer. The space Inside, the cabin is cozy yet well-appointed. The main floor includes a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances and everything you need to prepare meals during your stay. A custom-tiled bathroom, washer and dryer, and open living area with Wi-Fi and a Smart TV ensure both comfort and convenience. Upstairs, the spacious loft features a queen-size bed with views of the surrounding peaks. There is also room for a third guest, with a twin air mattress available upon request. Spruce Bear Cabin is perfectly positioned in the heart of the Kenai Peninsula, making it an ideal home base for exploring all that the region has to offer: • 15 minutes to Cooper Landing – Known for world-class fishing on the Kenai and Russian Rivers, plus scenic leisure rafting and hiking. • 45 minutes to Seward – Home to Kenai Fjords National Park, glacier hikes, wildlife and whale-watching cruises, and the Alaska SeaLife Center. • 90 minutes to Anchorage – Easy access for travel days or day trips to Alaska’s largest city. Please Note: The Spruce Bear Cabin sits on a shared 10-acre property and is situated between the home of your hosts, Marques and Teal, and their other rental, the Bear Cub Cabin. The cabin is located just off the Seward Highway. While highway noise can be heard from outside, the cabin’s well-insulated interior remains relatively quiet and peaceful. Guest access Guests are welcome to explore the 10-acre property during their stay. For those looking to stretch their legs, an old military trail begins just off the driveway toward the mountain. Look for a path on the right. This scenic path winds through the forest for about a mile, ending at the next nearby subdivision. Sadly, the Forest Service clear cut this area for fire prevention in 2024. While that opened the view of the surrounding mountains, it is quite sparse compared to what it used to be. Please keep in mind that this is true Alaska country, and wildlife such as bears and moose are known to frequent the area. For your safety, we strongly recommend carrying bear spray and staying aware of your surroundings while exploring the property. Looking for a refreshing summer adventure? Just across the street to the left and one driveway down, you'll find the Moose Pass swimming hole—a local favorite on sunny days. This crystal-clear, mountain-fed pond features a float raft and a rope swing, making it a hit with kids and adults alike. It's the perfect spot for cooling off and enjoying a fun, laid-back afternoon in nature. Other things to note Spruce Bear Cabin was just completed in May 2025, and we’re so excited to welcome guests to this brand-new space! Please note that landscaping and yard work are still in progress, and some areas around the cabin may look unfinished. Your hosts, Marques and Teal, will be working on the property throughout the summer to bring the outdoor spaces to life. You may see them outside planting, clearing, or doing general upkeep. They’ll do their best to keep disruptions to a minimum and always respect your privacy.
