Enjoy the view from this wonderful 1940's waterfront cottage on the Sasanoa River in Woolwich. From here access Reid or Popham Beach State Parks with ease. Visit Maine Maritime museum in Bath, the "City of Ships." Head to Portland for a night out. Just relax and watch the seals, osprey and eagles. Rent a boat to enjoy all this extremely special waterway has to offer. Around the corner is the Kennebec River and Merrymeeting Bay, to the south you'll discover Phippsburg and historical Fort Popham. Bring your fishing pole! The area is very special because the waterway allows access to extensive boating activity. Out to the ocean, Merrymeeting Bay as well as 5 different rivers. The views from this vantage point are spectacular. Extensive wildlife. It is located right off route 1 North, Woolwich. There are no neighbors to the right of the cottage. To the left there is a small cottage and house owned by the neighbor. The biggest downfall in my opinion is that it boarders Wilder’s Bridge, so there is some traffic noise. The water system is public but waste water goes into a holding tank, which must be pumped; conservation is a must for guests who book. Other downfalls are steep stairs going upstairs and slanted ceilings upstairs as well. I believe that the cottage is perfect as is. I absolutely love this space, and hope you will too! Guests have use of this fully furnished Cottage. Coded door. Close to everything. Less than 1/2 mile to downtown Bath for restaurants, local shops, waterfront park, library, churches, farmers market on weekends, and lots more to discover. Easy on/off Route 1 North to go to Brunswick, Topsham, Freeport (LL Bean!), Portland and beyond. Cottage completely private. Head North to Boothbay Harbor, day trip to Bar Harbor. Public transportation in Bath. None in Woolwich. Directions. Route 1 North from Bath, head over the Sagadahoc Bridge. Directly on the other side is Woolwich where you will spy a Dairy Queen. Turn right at D.Q. As if heading down Route 127. Before stop sign, on the left, there is D Street. Turn left onto D street and right on Sasanoa Road. Follow to the end. Cottage is the last on the street, yellow and on the left. Please be aware of public water going to Cottage; the pipes are shallow since it's a seasonal space, so please keep cars off the grass that's in front of the cottage. You may pull straightforward beyond the road for extra parking. Lots of current in this area so please respect the rivers.
