Relax in this lovingly restored stone built country cottage, to be found at the end of a,resident only, tarmaced tow path. Situated on its own private island, alongside the Chesterfield canal, beside a working lock. The front faces the lock with its comings and goings of canal boats., all with a friendly crew and a story to tell of their journey. A few private moorings too. The rear of the property looks out to an uninterrupted rural landscape and water feature Please see our property details The space Upstairs there are two generous bedrooms both with duel aspect. One with a double bed the second is a twin room. Downstairs comprises of a full bathroom with shower. A fully fitted modern kitchen awaits with three windows all offering a different view of this beautiful setting. Two further rooms, the first is cosy with wood burning stove, and TV. The second is a large, airy room with dining table to seat 6, a dedicated work space and two comfy sofas, again with smart TV. This room opens up onto the rear dining patio, and large secluded garden. Please note that our staircase is original to the cottage and is steeper than a modern one. It may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues. See additional photographs. Beautiful rural location but we are surrounded by water. Our rear garden boundary is unfenced and leads directly to water therefore the property may NOT be suitable for infants, and smaller children. Please see photographs and we are happy to discuss in more detail. Guest access The whole of the property and grounds are available for private, guest use. Other things to note Secure parking. Access to the property is over a lock bridge. If you are looking for peace and quiet, long walks or lazy days this property is perfectly suited. The nearest town is 4 miles away. The nearest pub, restaurant and health spa would be a 3 minute drive. For exploring The Dukeries area: Clumber Park, Thoresby Park and Welbeck Abbey are all around 10 miles. We have two local market towns with the cities of Lincoln and Nottingham around 20 miles in either direction.
