IMPORTANT INFORMATION Pets: The cottage is maintained as a strictly pet-free property due to severe family allergy sensitivities. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate pets of any kind. Please ensure all guests review this prior to booking. Trail to the Lake: The cottage sits on a hill with a private trail leading down to the water—about a 4-minute walk. The path is steep in sections, so we recommend wearing proper footwear. Early Summer: While our cottage has direct water access, the water level at our shore is shallow and may vary throughout the season as we are on a dammed lake. For comfortable swimming, guests typically paddle a 45-50 meter distance using a kayak or paddleboard (provided at the cottage). It’s a peaceful and scenic paddle, and you’ll quickly reach deeper water perfect for swimming. Starting Late August - Early September: Water levels drop significantly in late summer, and our immediate shoreline becomes muddy with no direct water access from the dock. Many guests wear water shoes and walk out to launch the kayaks, which takes you into the deeper, open part of the lake. There are nearby public swimming areas and beaches with easy entry and calm waters. Garbage & Recycling: Please note that guests are responsible for taking their garbage and recycling to the local landfill at the end of their stay using the landfill pass provided. The landfill is approximately a 10-15 minute drive from the cottage. Winter Stays: After snowfall, the driveway and parking areas are routinely cleared and sanded but can have access limitations from time to time. For your convenience and safety during winter months, we have provided shovels, ice melt and flashlights. Security: For the safety and security of our guests and property, there is an exterior security camera located at the front entrance. The camera monitors the entryway only and does not record any interior spaces or private outdoor areas. Guest access Guests have full access to the entire property, with the exception of the basement. The basement is currently unfinished and used only for storage — it is not occupied or in use by anyone during your stay. All other indoor and outdoor areas are yours to enjoy. Other things to note IMPORTANT: The cottage is maintained as a strictly pet-free property due to family allergy sensitivities. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate pets of any kind.
