Charming Vermont Schoolhouse

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. A beautifully restored schoolhouse circa 1860 welcomes you. Situated on a quiet country road this adorable home on one wooded acre has lovely mountain views and a peaceful setting. Nearby you will find skiing, hiking trails and quaint Vermont towns with shops and restaurants. Manchester and Rutland are 30 min. drives, Dorset is just 20 min. Granville NY has a large grocery store and other shops and is only a 15 min. drive. The space The schoolhouse was built in 1860 and was used into the early 1950's. We purchased it in December 2023, it was completely gutted and a blank shell ready to be brought back to life. Over the course of 2024, I completely renovated it trying to keep it simple and comfortable. My wife Aimee and I wanted to use reclaimed items as much as possible, you'll notice that throughout the house. Some items we had in our barn, others came from our farmhouse and a few from local antique shops. The slate in front of the heating unit is from the original school chalkboards. The dings in the floor by the bar are from the chopping of wood for the woodstove in the schoolhouse. Also, our son designed and built the coffee table! We truly hope you will be comfortable and cozy in this space. The large windows let in so much natural light and allow you lovely views of the tree lined property. It is so nice to have your morning coffee and enjoy the view. The loft bedroom has a queen size bed and there is a full size pull out sofa in the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and stocked with some basic items. Please come and enjoy this peaceful setting!
