Under the Castle

Imagine waking up between mountains and sea, in the ancient silence of a village suspended in time. “Under the Castle” is not just a three-story house – it’s an experience. An authentic retreat in the heart of Trebiano, a quiet and picturesque medieval village, overlooked by the ruins of its old castle. Our townhouse sits just beneath the ancient stronghold. Among stone alleys, nature, and history – perfect for seekers of inspiration, romance, or a timeless escape. The space The house is spread over three floors, with central stair case: Ground floor: guest or private bathroom and storage room First floor: two double bedrooms (one with private bathroom) Second floor: fully equipped kitchen, living room, and small terrace with views of the Apuan Alps and the Mediterranean Sea. On the ground floor, the house opens into an entrance hall with a fully equipped bathroom and a storage room with a washing machine. Stairs lead up to the first floor, where the two bedrooms are located. Rosa Room: a 16 sqm double bedroom, furnished with a bed, bedside tables, and wardrobe, and well-lit with two windows. Verde Room: a 12 sqm double bedroom, furnished with a bed, bedside tables, a corner wardrobe, and a private 4.5 sqm bathroom. Continuing up the stairs, you reach the second floor, which features a spacious kitchen with dining area, a living room, and a panoramic terrace. In the living room, a sofa bed can be used to accommodate two additional guests. The spaces are characterized by wooden beam ceilings and historical decorative flooring. The view from the windows and terrace embraces both sea and mountains. In the morning, you can enjoy breathtaking sunrises rising behind the Apuan Alps, and in the evening, relax in the cool of the sunset while watching the colors shift over the sea. At the center of the view lies the Magra River valley and the Caprione promontory—an extraordinary area of hiking trails, history, and unforgettable places. Other things to note Trebiano is a peaceful and ideal base for exploring the area. From here, you can easily reach the beaches of Lerici and Tuscany, or visit the towns of Sarzana and La Spezia—great starting points for discovering the Cinque Terre. Trebiano’s historic center is pedestrian-only, adding to its peaceful and authentic charm. While I don’t have a private parking space, street parking is usually available nearby with a little patience. In winter, Trebiano offers an even more enchanting atmosphere: the views are crystal clear, with unique sunrises and sunsets painting the sea and hills. Tourist tax – Important information Starting in 2026, the Municipality of Arcola has approved the introduction of a mandatory tourist tax for non-resident guests. The exact rate has not yet been determined and will be set by the Municipality, expected around March 2026. If applicable to the stay period, the tax is not included in the Airbnb price, will be collected separately in accordance with local regulations, and will apply for a maximum of 5 consecutive nights, even in the case of longer stays.
