Located just a two min walk from beautiful Lake Kokanee on the north fork of the Skokomish river, this two bedroom cabin can sleep up to five with all the comforts you need for a quiet stay in the foothills of the Olympic Mountains. Recently updated kitchen, bathroom, and living/dining room makes this an ideal place to spend time with family or friends. The space Upon confirmation of booking, the reserving guest will be required to provide the first and last names of all members of their party 18 years of age or older and require all adults in the party to join the reservation through Airbnb. Not to do so prior to the day of check could result in cancellation of the reservation. Reserving guest also needs to message the make and model of vehicle(s) to be parked on site, and provide details of any watercraft to be parked on site. The cabin does not accommodate RVs. The cabin can comfortably accommodate up to four adults or groups of five containing children. Site access is restricted only to those on the reservation. Group gatherings or parties are not allowed on site. The cabin resides on property managed by a home owners association (HOA). The HOA has specific community rules regarding Airbnb guests, quiet hours outside and inside the cabin (10pm to 8am), campfire management, among others. A full listing of HOA rules can be found in the white cabin Information binder assembled for our guests and stored in the cabin. Bigfoot's Den is managed to cater to clients looking to spend relaxing get away time from the daily grind enjoying an array of activities and sightseeing available in the area. If your plans involve heavy drinking, or a "party in the woods", you should look elsewhere for accommodations that better suit your needs. IMPORTANT NOTICE: MASON COUNTY HAS INSTITUTED A BURN BAN EFFECTIVE JULY 9, 2025. THIS BAN PROHIBITS ALL OUTDOOR BURNING INCLUDING CAMPFIRES. USE OF THE FIRE PIT IS PROHIBITED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. USE OF THE PROPANE GAS GRILL FOR COOKING OUTDOORS IS ALLOWED UNDER THE CURRENT BURN BAN. Guest access As part of your stay, guests will have use of a single Lake Cushman Maintenance Parking Pass (LCMC). This pass provides access to the parking lot at each of the three Lake Cushman HOA Parks (the park on Lake Kokanee, the park on Lake Cushman just north of the LCMC offices on SR 119, and the park on Lake Cushman north of the Big Creek campground in DIV 2-4 right before the paved road turns to unpaved and continues toward the Staircase National Park and campground. Other things to note Cell phone reception is limited in the area. We recommend guests use cabin wi-fi for calling during your stay. If you intend to use mobile phone directions to get to the cabin, you should access directions before leaving HYW 101 in Hoodsport where cell phone reception is good. The living room area contains a mini split ductless heating and cooling unit. The loft and bedroom are not air conditioned. Summer time cooling of the cabin can be enhanced by opening of windows during the evening. Numerous "home" touches are included in the cabin such as yoga mats, spices for cooking and slippers. Watercraft restrictions exist for Lake Kokanee with reduced speed use of trolling motors allowed for fishing. Motor boats, jet skis. and other high powered watercraft are not allowed on Lake Kokanee, but can be used on Lake Cushman. Kayak and paddleboard enthusiasts: Lake Cushman Store on SR 119, immediately to your right before you make the turn onto Cushman Potlatch road, rents kayaks for use on both Lake Kokanee and Lake Cushman. Kayaks and paddle boards for use on Lake Cushman can be rented at Skokomish Park at Lake Cushman off SR 119 just passed the LCMC HOA park. This public park charges a day use parking fee and is closed during the winter months. Golf enthusiasts: Lake Cushman Golf Course provides a nine hole course open to the public. The course is located on the left hand side of SR 119 about one half a mile past Lake Cushman Store. Disc golf enthusiasts: There is a new 18 hole, par 3 disc golf course on the left hand side of SR 119 just past the turn for the Lake Cushman Golf Course. Contact the host prior to your arrival if you require access to discs for playing the course. Hiking enthusiasts: There is an abundance of hikes for all ages within 15 miles of the cabin. See the White Cabin Information Binder upon check in for detailed hiking information. In addition, there are some picturesque waterfalls within an hour or two drive time from the cabin. For those unfamiliar with the area, feel free to message the host for hiking options that meet your groups interest and level. Please note when hiking, the surrounding area provides habitat for both black bear and cougar. While citing's are rare, they are more common during the spring and summer months often occurring near rivers and creeks.
