It has a forest in the back and a deck where you can drink coffee and see wildlife like deer, bluebirds, woodpeckers, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, and lizards. It's only a 6-minute drive to get to Idyllwild's town center and the hiking trails. Scout’s Hideaway has a mix of modern and vintage styles, with two big bedrooms (one with a king bed, one with a queen) and a living room that opens onto the deck. The kitchen is fully equipped and there's coffee and tea available. In the evening, you can light a fire in the wood-burning stove, have a glass of whiskey or wine, and watch the sunset from the deck. The cabin is meant to be a peaceful place to enjoy nature and the company of friends and family, so we have games and puzzles, but no TV. If you want to watch something, bring your own device for streaming. There's WiFi, but it's the perfect place to disconnect. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE BOOKING: This vacation rental is equipped with a mini split air-conditioning unit. -Cancellations: Bookings canceled at least 60 days before the start of the stay will receive a full refund, with a $150.00 cancellation charge. Bookings canceled at least 30 days before the start of the stay will receive a 50% refund plus a $150.00 cancellation charge. No Cancellations are Allowed for November, December, and January. - Pets: We do allow dogs; however, please note that there is a fee of $35 per dog per night. Bringing more than one dog requires prior approval and may incur additional fees. Other pets may be considered with prior approval, and a flat per-stay pet fee may apply instead of the nightly fee, depending on the property and length of stay. For reservations made through third-party sites such as Airbnb, once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a separate payment request for any approved pet fees, which must be paid separately. - Check-in instructions: Please check in at the main office. Parking: Free parking is available for 1 vehicles (Seasonal Restrictions Apply; chains are recommended in winter, and 4X4 is HIGHLY Recommended). - Outdoor lighting: Please note that outdoor lighting must comply with Riverside County regulations and must not blink, flash, or rotate. Guests will be held liable for any "light trespass" on surrounding properties. - County permit number: 002134 - Rental agreement: Please review our rental agreement for our house rules. You will receive an emailed version to sign, but if you prefer other options, please inquire. - Age restrictions: Due to the new County of Ordinance 927.2: We no longer accept reservations for anyone under 21 years of age. - Seasonal wood delivery: If available, there is a $25 fee per bundle (approximately 20 pieces). Please provide at least 5 days' notice for a Friday arrival date or at least 3 days' notice for any other day of the week. Please note that there are no refunds for this service. - Confirmation: Upon booking this property through Airbnb, New Spirit Vacation Homes will send you a direct email confirming your reservation. Attached to this confirmation will be a contract you need to review, sign, and send back within 24 hours. - Incidentals: We reserve the right to request payment for any incidentals. This includes but is not limited to firewood, pet fees, special occasion requests, personal grocery drop-offs, pay-per-view movies or sporting events, and damaged property.
