Murphy’s Patch

Set on 2 acres in the heart of Pirongia village - warm, spacious and modern with rural views. Tucked away down a long drive - your self contained unit is next to the hosts main house and paddocks containing horses and an even friendlier dog Tilly who is free range and likes to visit guests often, so liking dogs is a must. Horses are welcome to stay on request with plenty of room for trucks and floats. Some weekends are booked for family use but please feel free to ask about certain dates. The space Your unit has a main living area with lounge, huge TV, kitchenette, dining and pool table - there are also two single beds in the main room. The kitchenette has a kettle, toaster, microwave, electric frying pan and an air fryer. We supply tea, coffee, sugar and milk for your first few hot drinks. There is a separate bathroom and queen sized bedroom. Outside you have a private patio with views to the mountain. Sit outside at the bar leaner watching the sun go down while warming yourself with the open brazier. You are more than welcome to pat the horses or give them carrots or apples - they will come to you at the fence. Our Staffordshire Terrier Tilly LOVES visitors so she will probably be the first one out to greet you. Please be careful of her with your car as she gets pretty close! She is friendly and sometimes barks or grumbles (talking) its her way of letting you know she wants to play. She will want to go into the unit with you - we dont mind as long as you dont feed her but please let us know if she is bothering you and we will lock her away. Guest access Guests have their own private space with amazing mountain views from the window and patio area. Plenty of parking and room for horse floats, boats, caravans etc We are able to lock bikes etc away at request. Other things to note The mountain bike tracks and horse trails up the local mountain are only a short 10 minute drive away and free to use 800m walk to the local 4 square (groceries), bakery, Mountain Folk cafe, Fish and chip shop, Mobil petrol station and the local gift shop. Please note there is a "no party" policy. 10 min drive to the bigger town of Te Awamutu where there are numerous eateries and shopping 24 min drive to Fieldays 25 min to Hamilton 24 min to Hamilton Airport 34 min to Waitomo Caves 55 min to Hobbiton 35 min to Maungatautari Mountain Sanctuary 50 min to Raglan or Kawhia beaches 1hr 45 to Auckland Airport
