Enjoy the peaceful forest and fall in love with the cozy magic of tiny house living. The space The Nest 🌲 features a cozy loft with a queen bed accessed by a ladder. This tiny house is glamping at its finest, with a platform couch and bench for seating, a tiny wood stove, a kitchenette, and a composting toilet. There's no running water or electricity, but we provide all bedding, towels, dishware, tea, coffee, and a French press! For cooking outside, there's a BBQ. While there is no fridge, a cooler with ice packs can be provided. Battery packs (USB-C and USB) keep your devices charged, and the home includes rechargeable lamps, battery-powered lights, fan, potable water, and Wi-Fi. Consider it the ultimate indoor camping experience — all the comforts while still immersed in the forest! The tiny wood stove keeps you warm on cold nights. Guests should be comfortable operating it and topping it up as needed to stay cozy. Guest access You will have access to the tiny house. Other things to note • 🌲 While there is no running water, drinking and washing water is provided. There is no electricity, but battery packs (USB-C and USB), rechargeable lamps, battery-powered lights, and Wi-Fi are available for your convenience. • 🚶 The tiny house is about 400 feet from the parking area along a forest trail. A wagon is provided to help you move your items. • 🔥 Guests should be comfortable operating the wood stove to keep warm in winter. The stove will keep you cozy even on the coldest nights, but you may need to top it up during the night. Logs, kindling, fire starter cubes, matches, and lighters are provided, and we’ll send a video guide to help you get started. In winter, we'll pre-start the stove to warm the space before your arrival. When disposing of ashes, please use the metal pail outside and return it to the concrete blocks. There is no other heat source. • 🏞️ Local highlights: • Mill Pond Conservation Area for hiking (15 min) • Rock Dunder Nature Reserve for hiking with stunning views (30 min) • Rideau Ferry Beach (Yacht Club Conservation Area) - public swimming on Rideau Lake • Bikes, kayaks, and canoes available via Rideau Tours at Chaffey’s Locks (30 min) • ⚠️ Please note: No campfires (no clearing in the forest) and no smoking.
