The entire property is yours to explore, right down into the ocean. The house is accessed from the parking bay via a short set of exterior steps with railings. Once inside, the house occupies three levels. The main bedroom is loft-style on the uppermost floor, the main living spaces (including kitchen and bathroom) are on the ground floor, and the media room/second bedroom is located on the basement level. There are several staircases inside the house, all with glass railings and small landings partway through. STARTING JULY 2026 (PHOTOS COMING SOON): Top Shell's new sundeck is accessed from ground or basement level via short steps, paved paths and landings. The sundeck itself is on a single level, with open-air dining and lounging areas in close proximity to the ocean. Beyond the sundeck, steps with railings lead directly into the water for swimming and snorkelling. Unique to Top Shell and our sister property next door, Cow Polly, is the abundance of natural reefs that form a protective barrier around our waterfront. This is unlike other properties along this stretch of coastline, which are mainly protected by manmade seawalls that don't break up wave action as effectively. The natural protection of the reefs enables our guests to enjoy a more sheltered outdoor experience, both at the sundeck level and higher up on our terrace, even on windier days when the ocean is rougher. The reefs themselves teem with marine life, offering an ever-changing underwater world just steps from your door. Exploring the island couldn't be easier from Top Shell's central location, putting you within easy reach of the island's delights, whilst being removed from the hustle and bustle of town. The nearest bus stop is a one- to two-minute walk from the house on the main road. Although the road doesn't have a sidewalk (island charm!) and can be busy, our motorists are accustomed to pedestrians walking along the roads. Taxis are reliable, plentiful and never too far away. And if you prefer having your own set of wheels, you'll only be a two minute drive to the nearest restaurants in Flatts, a seven minute drive to the nearest grocery store and public beach, and a 12 to 15 minute drive to the shops of Hamilton. Other things to note Top Shell is a luxury retreat for couples. It has two distinct sleeping areas, offering the flexibility to rest separately if desired -- perfect for light sleepers. The media room can be converted into a second bedroom and accommodate two adults on its sofa bed. Due to our home furnishings, staircases and proximity to water, our home is not ideal for toddlers. For families or small groups travelling together who would like even more space to enjoy, we suggest considering renting both Top Shell and our neighbouring luxury cottage, Cow Polly (https://www.airbnb.com/h/cowpolly).
