Nestled in the mountains in 4mile Canyon, just 18 minutes west of Downtown Boulder, this incredible living sanctuary is a the perfect zone to relax and immerse in sustainable, mountain living. Soak under the stars in our 4 person hot tub in wonderful privacy! The space Our handcrafted Earthship has been meticulously designed with local, natural materials as well as reclaimed materials. A fully sustainable cob home built into an earthen mountainside with towering views of Sugarloaf Mountain and the sprawling valley below. Hundreds of acres of raw, mountain landscape are in perfect view outside the expansive, south-facing glass facade, lined with a gorgeous indoor garden that is home to exotic plants, herbs, and florals. An incredibly dreamy home zone to dream, imagine, sip coffee and tea, cook your favorite meals with people you love, play in the mountains, get lost in the milky way and feel transported to another realm in real time. Soak under the stars in our 4 person hot tub, in wonderful secluded privacy. We take an eco-friendly living concept very seriously at the Earthship- and most importantly in existing Fragrance Free! We never use any chemically-based products for cleaning, washing, cooking, etc. We appreciate and insist that guests follow these practices while staying at the Earthship, and also live Fragrance Free while staying here. We provide natural toiletries, soaps, lotions, etc for all of our guests to please use while staying here. Please do not bring any chemically based products with you! Stay connected to the outside world with Starlink Internet- with great connectivity throughout the entire property. The unique, handcrafted home is made to be one with the landscape surrounding it. With multiple indoor gardens, rainwater catchment system, glass facade, greywater recycling system, solar water heaters, rammed earth & earth cobb walls, all work harmoniously together to keep this home comfortable yard round, and the perfect temperature inside year round with its passive solar design. All with the creature comforts of a modern-style home. This is all inspired by the revolutionary work of Michael Reynolds, who developed the Earthship concept in Taos, New Mexico in the 1970s. This home is a tribute to his vision of sustainability, off-grid living, and eco-friendly way of life. At the Ship, we have one primary bedroom with a queen bed, a small lofted sleeping area off the dining room with a twin bed, we also provide a queen size air bed that guests can use in the living room for an additional sleeping zone. Our Earthship has been a well-loved Airbnb for several years now, with hundreds of 5 ⭐️ reviews under our belt. We are currently undergoing new management changes, which have brought us to create a new listing with our amazing new manager, Alexandra! Guest access ***Our road up to the Earthship is a rugged, single lane, dirt road. Please be aware of the this & plan for mountain driving. Just about any vehicle can make it up to the Ship in the summer. 🌞 *** Guests will have access to the entire Earthship. The Earthship is host to one queen bed, one twin bed, a full bathroom with shower, sink, & composting toilet. Kitchen, living room, plus our lookout tower which is a lovely space for meditation and yoga, mats and bolsters provided for guest use! Please ONLY park in the driveway area. Thank you for preserving our natural landscape. Please do not park in the road/block the road for any reason-Our neighbors share the road with us and it needs to remain passable at all times. Other things to note ***Our road up to the Earthship is a rugged, single lane, dirt road. You WILL NEED AWD/4x4 to get to the property from the months of October-May. Guests must be prepared for snow these months**** Please note the specifics of our property, including how to care for the house systems (like water conservation, composting toilet use, fragrance free product use, etc) The Earthship is very unique and requires special care, compared to a 'normal' house. Unique homes have unique quirks, unique needs and unique care processes. If you have questions about anything in regards to the EarthShip, our house rules, etc., PLEASE ask us.
