Single room in a lovely period house

A single room in a slightly rambling Georgian house in a Suffolk village. The room has a lovely view over the countryside including the historic church. There is plenty of parking and a large walled garden. Accommodation is especially suitable for someone involved in local energy projects. With excellent broadband, it is also ideal for someone wanting a quiet place to work from home. The space The house is tastefully furnished in keeping with the age of the property. However there is also modern technology with high speed broadband and a very efficient heating system. We think the building was an alehouse at one time. The oldest part at the rear dates from around 1730 and started life as a timber framed cottage. The kitchen still has low ceilings which very tall visitors may find inconvenient. However the front part where your bedroom is situated has plenty of headroom and dates from later in the 18th century. There is also a formal 18th century drawing room which is available for guests to enjoy. This has an open fireplace for chilly nights. The room also contains USB sockets to charge appliances. The downstairs shower room was thought to be where the ale was kept. Guests are also welcome to enjoy the garden room which leads on to a delightful walled garden which is kept in trim with a robotic mower. Guest access This is a large house with two staircases. The guest room can be quite private and the front stairs provide good access to the rest of the house. Guests have exclusive use of the downstairs shower room and is only shared when both guest rooms are occupied. You will be sharing the rest of the house and garden with the friendly host. The host has his own private wing and separate bathroom accessed by the back stairs. During your stay The host is in attendance most of the time, and will be pleased to meet any requests and provide local information if that is needed. There is sufficient space in the house for guests to maintain privacy. Equally, visitors are welcome to sit round the kitchen table with the genial host. There is a well-equipped modern kitchen with the usual facilities. This can be used on request. Guests are also welcome to use the washing machine by arrangement. Other things to note This is a well lived-in family house with a smart TV in the shared living space. However, please be aware that you are staying in my home. As well as enjoying the privacy of your own room, guests can enter other parts of the house but need to consider that this is also my workplace and as such I have a wide range of projects going on in various places. The place is kept clean by the house fairy who comes every week. However, when providing feedback, please take this into consideration that this is an old country house, and various ameneties may not be the same as found in a modern hotel. This accommodation is especially suitable for someone working on local energy projects and there may be a maximum of two guests at the same time. There is a friendly cat called Jonny. He can be quite sociable but at the same time respects guests who do not like cats. There is also a good pub a very short walk away. They serve delicious meals and provide live music on certain days. This is very much a social hub in the village.
