Condo in Anchorage
Description
This 1-bedroom condo is the perfect place to spend a few nights in Anchorage on your way to exploring other parts of our gorgeous state! It has also been the home for several traveling nurses who needed a place to stay for several months. I am happy to work with travelers for long-term discounts! This is not a fancy, expensive hotel. It's just a nice, cozy, furnished home that we are happy to make available to short and long term guests. And it is on an epic Greenbelt and trail system! :-) The space You are stepping into the house of a musician and artist. There will not be any cute Alaskan themed cartoon bears on the wall, but there will be a whole bunch of funky art to ponder. The private entrance is well lit and you will receive the code to the keypad on the door. The ground floor is the full kitchen, small living room, and a half bathroom. There is no couch in the living room, but there is a cute wicker bench and there is a guitar for you to play! There is a stowaway breakfast nook table and stools to enjoy your coffee that you made in the coffee maker. The upstairs floor looks out towards the mountains and you can see the sunrise from the small upstairs deck. The upstairs is the bedroom and full bathroom with a shower and tub. It has a double bed, hand painted art on the walls, a large screen tv and a dvd player. Please understand, this condo is a house that is lived in during other parts of the year and it is not an empty replica of a hotel room at a palace!! This condo is definitely small, only 675 sq ft, but it is fully stocked with everything you can imagine, including a coffee maker, and pots, pans and utensils. The kitchen is stocked with basic foods and spices and ingredients to help you complete a meal when you're cooking at home! There are usually a couple folded up guitar cases being stored in the closets lol!! The house is full of music the rest of the year! The appliances and amenities all work, but aren't fancy. There is a slight discoloration on a countertop or carpet here or there, but I assure you that all of them have been thoroughly cleaned! There have been kids and pets and rooms full of laughter in the condo during the winter and therefore you might see a scratch on the floor or wall, but you can also see wild salmon spawning just a few yards from the front door! I am a creative, thrifty type, and I made my own DIY bed frame using recycled building materials. It looks unconventional if you lift the corner of the comforter up, but it is very sturdy and has a brand new mattress this summer and a new comforter this season! There is still carpeting on the stairway and the upstairs bedroom, but the downstairs has new laminate flooring. There have been animals living here in the past and there is most likely a dog hair somewhere, but there is a regular house cleaner that comes in between guests and you will have clean surfaces, fresh sheets on the bed and clean towels to help you freshen up after a long day of sight seeing around Anchorage! As much as I love pets I do not allow guests to bring pets in the condo for short term stays. Sorry and please think twice before bringing your pet on vacation to Alaska! If you are traveling with pets for work and you are staying long-term, please feel free to contact me to work out possible arrangements. We are LGBTQ friendly and provide a safe atmosphere for anyone who wants to stay! The City of Anchorage currently requires us to pay a 12% bed tax. This is a Municipal requirement and it is included in the rate. This is not a fancy hotel, but it is half the price of most hotels in Anchorage during the busy tourist season and I just wanted to help some fun-loving people find an affordable place to stay while transitioning in or out of Alaska. The people who have stayed here so far have thought that it suited their needs perfectly and was priced accordingly! :-) Guest access You will have the entire condo to yourself and your host will never be there checking in on you, but I am available through the messaging system if you need me! You have a private outdoor entrance and the upstairs deck to watch the sunset. Just outside the door you have access to the paved Campbell Creek Trail system which connects with the rest of the 30+ mile Anchorage trail system and has beautiful woodland and wildlife views. Other things to note Moose and bears are real. This condo is right at the edge of a greenbelt and source of food and water for many animals. Please be bear aware and don't take food or leave any litter on the trail system.
