Casa Ensenada Isla Mujeres is a one-of-a-kind family property in Isla Mujeres, situated next to the Caribbean Sea, surrounded by protected mangroves and abundant wildlife. The entire East side of the home is full of terraces & windows, incredible natural lighting, the sounds of the ocean & absolute privacy. We are a full-service property, providing daily maid & concierge services, & on-site personnel to anticipate your every need. Beach is seasonal & weather permitting. The space HOUSE DESCRIPTION: This listing is for levels 1 and 2 & has 4 bedrooms & 5 bathrooms: • 2 rooms with king beds • 1 room with queen bed • 1 room with custom bunk bed (full mattress on bottom, twin on top) Extra Sleeping Spaces: • 2 queen air mattresses • Full-size sofa bed • Twin-size Couch GUEST LIMIT: There are 9 guest sleeping spaces in beds. With our extra sleeping arrangements, we can sleep comfortably 11 guests. We will allow up to 15 total guests in the home, for $50 USD extra per person, per night after 11. Both children and adults are included in this total. The third level ocean view Penthouse Apartment can be added onto your rental for an additional rate when available / not occupied by the owner. This adds-on 2 extra bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a 2nd fully equipped kitchen, living/dining room and terrace. LEVEL 1: We created our home to be family friendly as well as an incredible place to work or to getaway with friends - The first floor of the home has a fully equipped chef's kitchen with quartz countertops, an industrial-sized refrigerator, a gas oven and range, an electric oven and all of the appliances and cooking equipment that you might need to prepare your meals or hire our staff to do so for you. There is a four person eat-in kitchen table, a ten person dining room table and a TV room just off of the full living room that is a popular spot for the kids, while the adults are socializing in the common spaces. In this room there is a bluetooth sound bar, DVD player and Smart TV, with access to log into your streaming accounts. The first floor terrace has a beautiful heated pool with LED lighting system and water fountain, an eight person dining table, living area, a relaxing hammock, and a gate to the protected mangrove forest with a pathway to the ocean below. Since we are located on a cliff, the ocean and beach access below the property is accessible by a stair ladder and descending path through the rocks (seasonal / weather permitting). Please see "Guest Access" section below for more information about the seasonal beach access. We have a full bathroom at the front of the house with a rainfall shower to wash off your sandy feet, before heading back into the house. The first floor of the home has a beautiful bedroom with a king-sized bed, ensuite bathroom and large closet. This bedroom can be used for anyone that has problems with going up stairs, since the home has a wheelchair accessible ramp connected to the front staircase. All suites have a Smart TV and a large safe that fits most laptops, for your convenience. LEVEL 2: The second floor of Casa Ensenada has 3 Bedrooms with private Bathrooms and a small TV / Living Area. The master suite has a king-sized canopy bed and a terrace with a hanging swing chair, two additional outdoor chairs and a small table to have your morning coffee or tea while listening to the sounds of the ocean. There is a children's suite with a bunk-bed that has a full-sized mattress on bottom and a single bunk on top. The bathroom in the kid's room has a bathtub for the little ones and a large closet with toys and games. The third bedroom on this floor is a guest suite with a queen-sized bed. In the TV area, there is a blue couch that pulls out into a full sofa bed for extra sleeping space. Lastly, there is a door connecting to the third level Penthouse Apartment, which would be locked during your stay, ensuring privacy and sole access to the space rented. EXTRA SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS: -Full-size couch in the first floor TV room -Full pullout sofa bed in the second floor TV area -Two queen-sized inflatable air mattresses Guest access The house has four levels in total - or two separate units, plus a basement (service quarters). When you book this listing, you have sole access to levels 1 and 2 - 4 bedrooms / 5 bathrooms and the pool/patio. You do have access to the laundry room, however it is located on the service quarters level, so we offer free laundry service for your convenience. Please note, one staff member lives on the service level. The third level of the home is the Casa Ensenada Penthouse Apartment, which overlooks the beautiful Caribbean Sea. When renting the main house, you do not have access to the apartment, and it could be occupied by the owner during your stay. This apartment has its own separate entrance and a connecting door to the Main House that is locked when either unit is rented / in use, which gives you complete privacy and sole access to the first two floors of the house and pool. SEASONAL BEACH & OCEAN ACCESS: Our home is situated on an inlet on the Caribbean side of Isla Mujeres. The ocean and beach below can be reached by a wooden stair ladder, followed by a descending path through the island rock. Since our house is on a cliff, there is a decline to go down to the water, and an incline to come back up. While the swim-ability of the ocean below is weather permitting and the size of the beach is seasonal, the views from up above are always stunning. Starting around March until mid-September, there are sandy areas to set up the beach items we provide including beach chairs, towels & mats, beach bags, umbrellas, adult & youth snorkel gear, coolers, floaties, life jackets, bodyboards and sand toys. In the summer months, especially in the afternoons from two o’clock until after sunset, it is in our opinion the most relaxing place on the whole island. When the water is calm, you may go swimming or wade through the water and is excellent for those who are more adventurous or enjoy snorkeling. Although it may be too rocky for children to go swimming, it is still a magical experience, as they can enjoy playing in the sand with our sand toys, splash on the shoreline, or hunt for shells and sea glass. From October to February, the beach recedes on this side of the island. When heavy rain, wind or Nortes, a strong, cool northern wind, is passing through, it may not be safe to go down to the water because of the strong waves and rocky areas that wash away walkable beaches. Be sure to check the rocks after a storm, as that's when all the true treasures are washed to shore. Only the public beaches downtown have lifeguards, so it is never recommended to go out too far. We also recommend packing & wearing water shoes. Other things to note FULL-SERVICE FEATURES: •A unique feature of our rental property is our free daily cleaning & laundry service. Our on-site staff is there to lend a hand and make your vacation as relaxing as possible. •Your on-site staff can help with anything you may need during your stay, such as errand running for snacks & beverages, grocery shopping, ordering taxis to the home, local recommendations, and even complementary laundry service! •Additionally, we offer a selection of beach gear from our collection, for you to enjoy such as beach towels, umbrellas & chairs, snorkel gear, bodyboards, sand toys, and coolers to name a few options! (seasonal & weather permitting) DAILY CONCIERGE SERVICES: •Our friendly concierge lives locally on the island and this complementary service is available to help you plan the perfect, stress-free vacation and ensure your every desire has been anticipated. Let us pre-stock your fridge with your favorite drinks and snacks, arrange a golf cart to be delivered to the home, plan an excursion out on the water (sunset cruises, snorkeling, fishing & more!), or help with restaurant recommendations based on your preferences. Inquire for quote. •Please be courteous that this service is in addition to our staff's daily cleaning tasks, so if you choose to add-on this service, this may affect the time cleaning begins. Meal services are available starting at 8 AM, and must be booked at least 24 hours in advance. Desserts require 48 hours notice. A 50% deposit is required to book a meal, and all deposits and payments will be made directly with the House Manager.
