This is the perfect place to unwind, enjoy nature, and experience Sweden’s largest lake — while still being close to the city of Karlstad. This is the perfect place to unwind, enjoy nature, and experience Sweden’s largest lake — while still being close to town. The Space Our house is approx. 105 m² inside and includes: • 2 comfortable bedrooms • 1 bathroom with shower, washer, and dryer • Fully equipped kitchen • Spacious living room with lake view, large sofa, and a big-screen TV • Dining room with fireplace, table and 6 chairs • Plenty of storage • A west-facing deck with direct lake views – ideal for evening sun and sunsets • A 34.2 m² enclosed veranda facing south, with a large dining table (7 chairs + 2 stools) – perfect for cooler or rainy days Outdoors & Activities • Private pier (shared only with us, your hosts) just 30 meters from the house • Rowboat with motor available for rent • Covered outdoor pool (4 × 8 m, 140 cm deep) may be available upon request • Free parking on the property Fishing in Lake Vänern is excellent – common catches include salmon, trout, walleye, pike, perch, and various whitefish species. Grill Options • A small gas grill is included with the house • A larger grill is available to borrow upon request Location We’re located just 15 minutes (14 km) by car from Karlstad, and only about 5 km by water. Perfect for guests who want a peaceful stay close to town, with easy access to both city life and lake adventures. Family-Friendly Children are welcome! Please note that the lake is very close (30 m from the house) and the property is not fenced, so supervision is needed. Your Hosts (and Pets) We live in the house behind the rental. On the property lives Karo, our large and very friendly dog, who roams freely and loves meeting guests. We also have two cats who are friendly but independent. Guest access The house you’re renting is all yours – a private space to relax and enjoy at your own pace. We live on the same property, in the house just next door, so we’re nearby if you need anything during your stay. When you arrive, you may be greeted by our friendly dog Karo – he loves welcoming new guests (but only if you're comfortable with that, of course). You are more than welcome to use the pier by the lake – perfect for a morning swim, a quiet moment in the sun, or just enjoying the view. There is also a covered outdoor pool on the property, located by our house. The pool is available to guests upon request – just let us know if you'd like to use it during your stay! Other things to note Children are more than welcome, but please be aware that the lake is only 30 meters from the house and there is no fence. Our pool is covered but not locked. It is therefore very important that parents always supervise their children when they are in the pool and water areas to ensure their safety. We have a large dog on the property. He is very friendly, but if you are afraid of dogs, this is not the right place for you. There are also two cats on the property, and they are usually shy around new people.
