Log Cabin on Middle Springy Pond

Authentic lakefront log cabin with many amenities. Located between Bangor, Mount Desert Island, and Downeast Maine. Bangor and Acadia are 45 minutes away. Nature is right off the front porch. Enjoy fishing, boating, and bird watching in a private two acre wooded setting or relax on an undisturbed 34 acre lake with wonderful views. Only one other camp on the lake, no water traffic, and very few neighbors on the road make it is a wonderful spot. By booking guests agree to adhere to house rules. The space Cozy cabin, approximately 750 square feet including sleeping loft and porch. Master bedroom on main floor with queen bed. Loft with two twin size beds, Smart TV, DVD, and Atari 2600. Pull out queen bed in living room. Well equipped kitchen with countertop seating and dining area overlooking water. Drinking Water Must be Brought. Tap water is drawn from shallow well near pond. Tap water is filtered and safe for dishes and shower, but not for drinking. Bathroom has a roomy shower and standard flush toilet. Large comfortable porch overlooking pond highlights wonderful scenery and boasts unobstructed views of Eagle Bluff. There is a fire pit, picnic table, and BBQ grill. Camp is situated on private 2 acre wooded lot with 800' of shoreline. Middle Springy Pond is a spring fed 34 acre undisturbed pond with one other camp at other end. A gravel pathway provides access to the water. It has an easy grade and 6 steps. Canoe, row boat, fire pit, and private dock are located on a natural shoreline. Bring your own paddle boards and lake float toys - it's a great spot for a refreshing swim — the water’s super clean and clear. If you wade out you'll notice a natural pond floor with some rocks, soft spots, and a few weeds. We recommend bringing water shoes for added comfort as you explore the water! Middle Springy Pond is loaded with pickerel and sunfish (no cold water species). Trout and Salmon can be caught on Lower Springy Pond which is accessible with a short portage. The surrounding area has lots of outdoor activities. Its close to recreation on the Union River, Beech Hill Pond, Graham Lake, and Molasses Pond. Hiking and rock climbing can be found at Eagle Bluff and the Parks Pond Trail. Chick Hill and Mariaville Falls are hiking only trails. The canoe and row boat are furnished with oars and paddles. Floatation devices included are two adult zippered vests sizes small and medium, one child size zippered vest, two orange adult size universal life vests, and one floating seat cushion. We have a flat driveway with ample parking. Guest access No access to master bedroom closet. No access to the woodpile under the tarp. No access to shed located on the property. Our property includes the road down to the beaver dam between middle springy pond and lower springy pond, but it ends at the bottom of the hill. Please use your best behavior when portaging boats between the lakes or crossing the bridge over the stream. Other things to note Guests must transport trash in their own vehicle to end of road for pickup by Friday 7:30 AM. It is a 1/4 mile drive. Guests are allowed to leave one bag of trash on checkout day. More than one SMALL bag of trash is subject to a $100 trash fee. Guest must bring their own drinking water. Water in the kitchen and bathroom is drawn from a shallow well near the lake. It is clean and filtered but not potable. Water from the tap can be used for showers, handwashing, and washing dishes. No diving off the swim dock. Depth is just under 5 feet at the end of the dock and is too shallowing for diving.
