While there is no running water or electricity, the site is thoughtfully equipped for a comfortable, off-the-beaten-path experience — perfect for those craving simplicity, solitude, and star-filled skies. This is an off-grid experience designed to help you unplug, slow down, and reconnect—with nature, with each other, and with yourself. 🛏What You’ll Find A beautifully furnished canvas tent with a comfy queen-size bed, luxury linens, and loads of pillows. Cozy chairs for lounging, reading, or playing games—we've stocked the tent with cards, a crib board, books, binoculars, and a wine opener/glasses to help you unwind. Your private (super clean) composting outhouse, just steps away from the tent. A designated fire pit for stargazing and marshmallow roasting next to the ocean (subject to provincial fire bans). A solar light system and a few essentials to make your stay comfortable, without the noise of modern life. 🚿 What You Won’t Find No running water or plumbing. We provide potable drinking water and simple toiletries to keep you feeling fresh. Limited reception & no Wi-Fi. No TV. No outlets. This is your chance to unplug and enjoy the sounds of the forest and the rhythm of the tides. (We know that sometimes you need to check in, and for that reason, we provide you with the wifi details in case you can get some signal on the property.) 📍 Location & Access Located on Spanish Ship Bay, between Sherbrooke and Sheet Harbour, right off the scenic Marine Drive (Route 7). The tent is a short walk from parking, we'll provide a wagon to help with bags if needed! 🛒 What to Bring Your favourite foods and beverages (Sherbrooke and Sheet Harbour both have grocery and liquor stores nearby). Headlamps or flashlights for nighttime use. Cozy layers—it can cool off at night, even in summer. This is not a hotel stay—it’s a nature retreat. If you’re looking for fresh air, tranquillity, and a bit of rustic magic, you’ll feel right at home. Please note: We ask that you don’t cook inside of tent for your own safety. The smells linger in the canvas and can attract wildlife. Guest access You're welcome to explore the property - we just ask that you be careful as much of it is wild and rugged terrain. The waterfront side of our property is available for your use - there is a fire pit there and a boat launch. Make yourself at home. Other things to note Please note: we’re in the exciting (and slightly messy) early stages of building our dream retreat here at Spanish Ship Bay. While your tent and private space are fully set up for a peaceful and comfortable stay, you may notice areas of the property that are still a work in progress—like rough landscaping, construction materials tucked away, or paths that haven’t yet been polished. We’re working slowly and intentionally to shape this place by hand, and we’re so grateful for guests who are part of these early chapters.
