Description
Located on a tropical flower farm, Casa Abuelita offers the perfect balance between nature and comfort. Imagine waking up to birdsong, exploring streams and hiking...leaving your house. Relax in the Jacuzzi, or spend your days fishing, birdwatching, and enjoying the privacy of this unique place. And if you want to explore, you're just 30 minutes from the beautiful beaches and vibrant local cuisine of Añasco and Rincón. The space Experience authentic Puerto Rico in a charming wooden home. Set on a 5-acre tropical flower farm, this cozy mountain retreat offers privacy, beauty, and a true connection with nature. The property sits in a lush river valley surrounded by green peaks, alive with the sights and sounds of local wildlife. Just a short walk away flows the Casey River, perfect for a refreshing swim in natural pools, fishing for dajao, or shrimping under the stars. Expect to hear coquís singing, crickets, and birds at night—a natural soundtrack of Puerto Rico. While you may spot the occasional lizard in the balcony, the home is fully screened, pest-free, and designed so you can enjoy fresh mountain air with open windows or cool comfort with air conditioning. To ensure comfort and peace of mind, the house is equipped with clean water systems, high-speed internet (Starlink), and reliable solar and gas-powered backup energy. Guest access Guests can tour the entire flower farm and enjoy walks along the access road behind the property, ideal for exercising, birdwatching, or reaching different points of the river. A scenic trail also connects with other vacation estates and leads to a waterfall and a large natural pool. In the backyard, next to the river, you'll find an outdoor entertainment area with a badminton court, fire pit, swing, and supports for up to three hammocks. Hammocks, badminton equipment, and campfire use are available upon request from the host. The house is also friendly for people with disabilities, with easy access and features designed for guests with reduced mobility. Other things to note The neighborhood is generally very quiet, with only the occasional background music from a nearby church or distant bar. Church services take place on Thursday and Sunday afternoons for about two hours. Bar music is farther away and very faint—and can be easily tuned out with the air conditioning if desired. Beautiful beaches are within a 30–60 minute drive. Nearby favorites include Tres Hermanos (Añasco), Steps and Sandy Beach (Rincón), Crash Boat (Aguadilla), and the stunning beaches of Cabo Rojo like Punta Arenas, Buyé, Boquerón, Combate, and Playuela. For your convenience, the house is equipped with beach (or river) essentials: a cooler, three folding chairs, and large towels. There’s also an outdoor hot-water shower to rinse off sand and salt before heading back inside.
