Pop's Cabin at Camp Skoglund

Pop's Cabin is a special place. Part of a summer boy's camp started by my father in 1956 it was the home of my Norwegian grandparents every summer. For the last 20+ years it has been a summer rental cottage for guests at our seasonal camp, Camp Skoglund. Now that I have semi-retired Camp Skoglund has two cottages for rent, as opposed to five, with the same amenities, boats, and docks as before. Spacious living area, gas stove for heat, master bedroom with queen bed, twin beds in 2nd bedroom. The space Camp Skoglund was a camp for boys started by my Father in 1956. When my Dad retired we turned camp into a family camp with five rental cottages. I now live here year round and have sold a portion of the property while maintaining two rental cottages and my own home plus most of the waterfront activity area. The property allows plenty of space for privacy and peace and quiet and our location on the lake faces due west affording the most beautiful sunsets. We are twenty minutes west of Augusta in the famous Belgrade Lakes region. Easy access from Portland and the Coast. The Nest is my other rental cottage and is down the hill from Pop's on your way to the docks. Pop's sits approximately 250 feet from the lake and while it does not afford water views, they are only steps away. While Pop's has a second bedroom my goal here at camp is to provide a private and restful vacation experience, thus, I prefer to have only two people in each cottage at a time. Note - along with my other cabin, the Nest, it is possible to rent both cottages together - thereby being able to house six people. Guest access There are three dock spaces for guest use, three kayaks, three canoes, and two paddle boards. Our waterfront spans over 150 feet so there is plenty of room for privacy, play, and relaxation. Other things to note One dog is permitted, upon approval. Dogs are not to be left alone in the cabins unless crated and provided that they don't tend to bark when left alone.
