The Mountain House

Explore the best Colorado has to offer while staying in our quiet mountain getaway. We are a stone's throw away from the Colorado Trail. Near our cabin, you can experience spectacular single-track mountain biking, hiking, fly fishing, snowshoeing, alpine skiing at Echo Mountain, and paddle-boarding on Wellington Lake. We are within 12 minutes of a delicious, chef-owned and operated winery. Most importantly, we offer memorable family time, summer breezes through aspen leaves, and serenity. The space Our cabin sits on two quiet acres, which back up to protected space owned by the Bureau of Land Management. The cabin is 1,200 square feet, which includes two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a living area, and a kitchen/dining room. The guest bedroom also has a loft with two XL twin beds. We have many windows that let in beautiful natural light, and every room has views of forests or mountains. We offer many amenities as well as basics such as paper towels, toilet paper, bath & hand towels, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Guest access The cabin and two acres of property are yours to explore. Unfortunately, ATVs are not allowed per county laws. Other things to note Other details to note: Our driveway is about 200 feet long and has some rocky places. In the dry months, any vehicle with normal clearance is fine to traverse the driveway . In the snowy, icy months, All Wheel Drive or 4-Wheel Drive are recommended. We do have our driveway plowed during these months. As of July 1, 2025, guests are not permitted to build exterior fires due to Park County fire restrictions. The grill can, however, be used. Please do not smoke inside the cabin.
