Eco-friendly 'Haiku', the call of the wild

The Haiku eco lodge is located in a secluded hamlet at an altitude of 450 meters at the end of a 6 km fully drivable track in the heart of the Wild Minervois. It is attached to our house and is totally independent. It was recently restored with healthy, natural, eco-friendly and noble materials and offers a cozy, authentic and bright space for one to two people. For a refreshing and inspiring stay, in direct connection with nature, this is where you have to anchor! The space The eco gite is located in a hamlet in the municipality of Félines Minervois at an altitude of 450 meters. It is 35 m2 and is ideal for one or two people. Completely independent of our house and with a private entrance, it has been recently restored with healthy, natural, ecological and noble materials: chestnut woodwork of the country, terroir slate countertop, exposed stones and beams, lime badges and natural pigments. It includes on the ground floor: - 1 living room with a kitchen area leading onto an outdoor terrace - a bathroom with shower, sink and toilet, and on the mezzanine floor ( height of 1m90 at the highest): a bedroom (bed in 140) and a workspace (office). In the cottage there is no TV. You'll find a mini hi-fi, CDs, board games, outdoor games and books. You have internet access ( wifi) via the Nordnet network. 4G works on phones in certain areas of the hamlet. In the summer, on our 3 ha living area, you will have small corners to nap in hammocks under the oaks and a private semi-shaded space, equipped with a pergola, a cozy garden lounge and two sunbaths, with an unobstructed view of the mountains and the Pyrenees. In ALL SEASONS, the free and private NORDIC BATH offers a unique space for relaxation and disconnection. The Scandinavian or Nordic bath is a large circular outdoor pool designed to accommodate hot water heated naturally by a wood stove. Originally from Scandinavian countries, used in particular in Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark, it is appreciated for its relaxing benefits, its conviviality and its ability to be used in all seasons, including in cold weather. In the past, Nordic baths have also been used to treat various types of diseases such as rheumatism, rheumatoid arthritis, and skin diseases. Today, it is still used for these purposes in some parts of Europe where it remains popular with locals. Our Nordic bath includes a hydromassage jet system that can be used as desired. The bath offers a silent immersion in plain nature, conducive to relaxation and disconnection. It favors an authentic and rustic atmosphere in a preserved environment with views of the mountains and the Pyrenees and the Milky Way at night. Its wooden design, with a warm and natural look, integrates discreetly and harmoniously. It is a real outdoor relaxation area. From our site, you will have many walks and hikes to put under your feet. On our living space, you will be able to see our animals that maintain the place in their own way: llamas and sheep. And we can tell you the story of this place if you wish. Guest access The journey from Félines Minervois to the hamlet where the Haiku eco-gite is located is a journey in itself. An exotic journey of 13 km on a small paved road in its first seven kilometers and a dirt track that can be driven in its last six kilometers. The road winds, crosses, at the exit of Félines, worked landscapes of vines and pine forests, then climbs in lace up in holm oak woods between limestone massifs and shale earth, to finally unveil a bright country in its raw beauty. It offers exceptional views of the Minervois plains and the Carcassonne perimeter and the snowy Pyrenees. You will have access to the entire house, a private terrace, a private Nordic bath and on sunny days a semi-shaded area with garden furniture. To access the hamlet, it is imperative to pass through Félines Minervois. GPS from Carcassonne indicates an access that is impassable. I will tell you at the time of booking the safe itinerary to follow to get to our place without difficulty. You will enjoy a large grassy and shaded car park in the summer . Other things to note Since the eco box is restored from natural materials, healthy and delicate for some, you will be asked to take precautions and respect. The cottage is without shoes indoors. You will find natural care and maintenance products in the cottage to respect the septic tank. The Nordic bath user manual is in the cottage but we will guide you the first few times in its use which is relatively easy.
