Welcome to Hugh Hesner – Your Lakeside Escape in Bala—just minutes from the charm of Bala and Port Carling. Newly completed in Spring 2025, this modern-yet-cozy retreat has everything you need to unwind, recharge, and embrace the best of cottage life. Set on a small, serene lake free from the bustle of the big waters, spend your days on the lakeside patio, roasting marshmallows by the fire pit, or lounging on the dock soaking up the sun. The space The Space 🛏️ 4 spacious bedrooms, including a luxurious master suite with en-suite bathroom 2.5 bathrooms total, with 2 full showers and one tub A fully equipped modern kitchen with everything you need to cook Bright and airy open-concept living/dining area with two large sliding doors that open to the outdoors A cozy Muskoka room perfect for morning coffee or evening chats Outdoor Living 🌅 South-facing dock with full sun all day and stunning sunset views across the lake ideal for swimming, with a shallow entry and a clean area around the dock (the shoreline is shallow and will have some lily pads and weeds, but the water is clear and beautiful for swimming) Canoe, kayak, and a paddleboard available for your use (please bring your own lifejackets) although we will have some for use if needed. 4 comfortable lounge chairs for sunbathing or stargazing Patio furniture with cushions and a small table for relaxed outdoor lounging (no outdoor dining table, but indoor dining area opens to the outdoors) Activities & Amenities 🎣 Great swimming with minimal boat traffic and warm water earlier in the season Fishing-friendly lake – rods and lures available upon request there are Bass, Walleye, and Perch in the lake. Close to Bala’s shops, restaurants, and attractions Private island with easy access on the South side. This is a small private lake, so you will not be able to launch a boat. Cell reception in the house isn’t great so we suggest turning on wifi calling if needed. Life jackets are in the closet to the right soon as you walk in front door if needed. All the tap water is filtered and safe to drink but we recommend using the filtered tap inside the fridge for drinks and the tap water for the kettle, coffee. Please bring your own beach/dock towels.
