Welcome to the High Pines Cabin! Kick back and find relaxation at the High Pines Log Cabin. Enjoy quiet woodland surroundings, a cozy fire in the fireplace, but also close proximity to Idaho Springs (10mi), St Mary's Glacier (1.5 mi) and Mount Blue Sky. With the closest ski resort only 30 miles away, you are also only 40 miles from Denver! Our place has everything you need, with a fully stocked kitchen, WiFi access, washer and dryer, and wood burning fireplace. The space Welcome to High Pines Hideaway! Your cozy mountain escape at 10,000 feet, surrounded by quiet nature, but also only 10 miles from town. PLEASE NOTE THAT 4WD/AWD IS REQUIRED FOR THE AREA FROM OCT-JUNE Inside: Upon entering you are greeted with wooded views, vaulted ceiling and a newly remodeled, modern space. At 10,500 feet, you will feel like you're on top of the world! This cabin offers everything needed to relax and disconnect while keeping those modern amenities at your fingertips. You have access to Starlink WiFi, TV with the top streaming services (remember to logout before you leave). While plenty of fresh linens and towels/wash cloths/hand towels are provided, Washer/Dryer is provided for you to use, but detergent may be limited. Bedrooms: There are 2 bedrooms to choose from. Both are queen beds and on separate sides of the cabin. Remember, you're at 10,000 feet so the nights can get chilly, but don't worry, each bed has an electric mattress pad to keep you toasty warm. Feel like getting out for some fresh mountain air? Hike St. Mary's Glacier Trailhead or Loch Lomond Trailhead, both within 5 min! Want to experience a snapshot of the gold rush, head down the mountain to tour Historic Argo Gold Mill. Coming in the winter and want to catch some fresh pow, you're about an hour away from some of Colorado's best skiing/snowboarding. If you're visiting in the summer months, the area has fishing, zip lining, or if you're a thrill seeker you can try your hand at rafting. - 2 minutes to Loch Lomond Trailhead - 5 minutes to St. Mary's Glacier Trailhead - 25 minutes to Indian Hot Springs - 25 minutes to downtown Idaho Springs - 30 minutes to Georgetown & The Georgetown Loop Railroad - 40 minutes to Red Rocks Amphitheater - 55 minutes to Lake Dillon - 1 Hr to Denver - 45 minutes to Loveland Ski Area - 1 hour to Winter Park Ski Area - 1 hour and 10 minutes to Breckenridge & Skiing - 1 hour and 20 minutes to Vail & Skiing - 1 hour and 15 minutes to Eldora Skiing (These times are all dependent on traffic conditions.) **PLEASE NOTE** Located at over 10,000 feet in the Colorado Rockies, this cabin offers a stunning mountain retreat with some practical considerations. Access to the cabin from Oct-Jun requires a 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle, as roads can be steep, muddy and snow-covered. The thin air can make physical activity more strenuous, and temperatures can drop quickly, even in summer, so be sure to pack warm layers. While the cabin is connected to the grid, power outages are possible due to storms or heavy snow—emergency lanterns and one night of firewood is provided, but additional wood is recommended. Any questions, don't hesitate to message us!! Guest access: Our entire private home is available to guests, and self check-in instructions will be sent 24-48 hours before your stay. We know that many guests like to check-in early and truly hope to accommodate all requests. We will attempt to message you once the cleaning crew has completed their work to let you know the home is available. Other things to note: If it snows during your stay guests may need to shovel the deck/pathway to clear a path. We have snow removal service after every major snow storm ends but it is likely you may need to shovel snow. Ice melt is usually readily available. 4WD vehicles are required October - May and AWD is strongly encouraged year-round. Please inquire prior to booking if you have questions regarding road conditions. If roads are open and you can't make it to the rental, no refunds will be issued. Parking for 2 cars, please plan accordingly as parking on the county roads may result in a parking ticket or tow. Exterior Cameras: There is an exterior security camera on each of the doors (3 total). These allow us to monitor the weather, snowfall, and can assist with initial entry. Once checked in, all cameras are turned off! Heating/AC: Mountain climate is mild and most houses do not have central AC. Feel free to open windows as needed! There are floorboard heaters throughout the living space and bedrooms. You can adjust these as needed (they will heat the bedrooms up quick, I recommend keeping them low). There is a wood can be used with enough wood for your first night as well as a fire starter log to help get you going. Additional wood can be purchased in town at Safeway. Parties or Events: There are no parties or events allowed at the rental. Pets: We are a pet friendly rental; 2 pets max. We charge a $100 non-refundable accommodation fare during your stay. If house rules are broken we reserve the right to withhold your security deposit and/or cancel your reservation. Check-In and Check-Out: After submitting your booking, you'll receive a thank you confirmation message, and within 48 hours prior to check-in you'll receive additional instructions for your arrival. Travel Insurance/Cancellations: We HIGHLY recommend buying travel insurance through your airline company, car rental company, or a travel insurance website. We cannot provide a refund for anything that falls outside of our cancellation policy and the dates that correspond with the policy. This includes date change requests as they are considered the same as cancellations (if the new requested check-in date is a later date than your original check-in date). We cannot provide a refund due to travel related issues or Covid. Please review the Airbnb cancellation policy if you haven't already. This can be found under your reservation, directly through our listing, or through the website that you booked. In most cases (but not all), you have a minimum of 48 hours to cancel your reservation to receive a full refund. Many reservations may have a longer period for a full refund. Last minute bookings are typically non-refundable. Altitude: Remember, you are at 10,000+ feet - the altitude means that your body will need to adjust to thinner air. Drinking plenty of water and taking frequent breaks if you feel winded/out-of-breath is recommended. Please check with your doctor before booking if you may have any conditions that may be adversely affected by a higher altitude. Our Property Manager does offer the use of Oxygen Concentrator (for a fee), if needed.
