Eco-friendly farm stay

We welcome you to a large house in the heart of our vegetable and fruit farm, where the calm of the growing plants reigns, sometimes brightened by the song of our geese frolicking in their large pond. Our house being almost adjoining, we can, when the work of the farm allows us, guide you so that your stay is enriched with all that the Couserans can offer you. The space The materials have been carefully chosen. The terracotta on the ground floor colors the rooms adorned with exposed stones and lime plaster. Upstairs, chestnut and oak woods give the rooms a warm atmosphere, while the walls in colorful earth and rounded curves subtly marry the stones that support them, leaving a few blocks to appear here and there. The ceilings and partitions are insulated with natural materials allowing good thermal and acoustic comfort. A wood boiler supplied with local logs heats the domestic water, the floor of the ground floor as well as the radiators of the floors. No chemicals here! A healthy interior in which you feel good. Also for us ecology is non-negotiable, and you will surely learn to appreciate our 3-star dry toilets (with urine separator and active ventilation). The ground floor shows large spaces with its entrance, its large equipped kitchen and its magnificent oak countertop, whose central island can accommodate your happy aperitifs while you try to cook a local dish, such as azinat couserannais. Adjacent, the living and dining room allow you to share a large convivial feast for up to 14 guests, or the large bay windows will immerse you in a green setting. A "Mineral" bedroom on the ground floor with a double bed avoids the use of stairs for cautious sleepers. The first floor gives access to the small double bedroom "Terre de Feu", the dry toilet, the large bathroom and the bedroom "Horizon Bucolique". The latter overlooks part of the farm and has a double bed and an extra sofa bed. The lobby offers extra space for reading or games. The second floor is a large mezzanine dormitory dotted with 6 single beds. It has a central space to accommodate children's games, yoga sessions or other activities. The gîte has just been renovated and opened its doors for the first time for the 2024 holiday season. A second bathroom is planned for 2026. Also, there is still little storage, especially in the bedrooms. Other things to note Several walks are possible from the farm: Farm tour (20 min), Chestnut tree path (45 min), Ascent of the Tuc du Montcalivert (1h30). We will provide you with the map or GPS route to guide you. Saint-Girons and its incredible market are accessible by bike, with a small climb (5 km – less than 10 minutes by car). From there you will have access to the 18 mountain valleys of the Couserans. The Palais des Evêques tourist site in Ariège is just a stone's throw away (4 km). Guzet Neige Ski Resort is a 50-minute drive away. Many nature activities, parties and festivals are offered mainly during the summer season. The beds will be made upon your arrival. Bath towels, linen and end-of-stay cleaning are included. Our sanitation is a plant filtration system, only environmentally friendly products are allowed. That's why we provide you with eco-friendly hygiene and cleaning products. The vacation rental is equipped with dry toiletries only.
