ABOUT THE RENTAL Walloon Lake has been a treasured destination for many generations and this classic cottage captures many years of those memories with modern updates that are looking to be shared with your family. Located just one mile from Walloon Village where you won’t want to miss out on ice cream from “Sweet Tooth” before catching the beautiful sunsets on the lake. If you don’t feel like cooking at the cottage, head to the village for live music and food at the Barrel Back Restaurant or the Walloon Lake Inn. With private frontage on the South Shore, you will enjoy all aspects of “lake life.” Enter the home into a quaint kitchen with Petoskey Stone knobs, a large cast iron sink, dishwasher, and metal countertops ready to prep your meals. Just off the kitchen is a mudroom/pantry with an extra fridge perfect for overflow food, beer, and wine! The spacious dining and living room area are complete with the original woodwork and built-in cabinets and the true character of a Walloon Cottage. A large master suite addition is placed on the main level of the home with plenty of space and hosting the one smart tv in the home capable of your personal logins (Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime, etc.) Take a step out another porch to the lakefront. The original staircase in the living room takes you to the upper level, down a hallway, and into one of the four bedrooms. There is unique charm with water basins located in a couple of the bedrooms. Enjoy all different times of the day on the porches, one located in back with a large round table that is perfect for dining and the other on the front (lakeside) complete with a wicker swing perfect for morning coffee or nighttime refreshments. While the cottage does not include air conditioning, we provide box fans, and some of the screened windows welcome in lake breezes to help keep things cool during the warmer months. * Please note that the fireplace shown in photos is inoperable *Access to water toys and boats are not included in the rental of this property.
