We’re experienced Airbnb hosts, recently returning from a hosting sabbatical, so you’ll see reviews from a previous listing within our home. This newly refurbished, pet-friendly coastal retreat is ideally placed for exploring Galway City, the Aran Islands, Connemara, and the Burren. We are an Irish speaking family, therefore, Gaeilge agus Fáilte! Inside the Space The 40m² retreat features a bright open-plan living, kitchen, and dining area with vaulted ceilings and dual-aspect windows that flood the space with natural light. Thoughtfully designed, it includes: Art Deco Italian leather sofa Samsung LED smart TV High-speed fibre broadband 100% New Zealand wool rug Travel cot from birth (Bassinet) - to 3yrs Remote rechargeable fan The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with a fridge freezer, combination microwave/grill oven, Nespresso machine, and washing machine—perfect for longer stays. We also provide you with the essentials: tea, coffee, milk, butter, olive oil, and seasonings—plus a few extras to ease you into holiday mode: complimentary snipe bottles of prosecco and red wine. The Bedroom & Bathroom A peaceful space with: King-size bed Crisp cotton linens & mid-tog duvet Hypoallergenic pillows & cozy bedspread Open metal wardrobe with shelving, hangers, and baskets Touch-activated bedside lamps Hairdryer and a sewing kit The cottage will comfortably sleep 2 + 1, the couch though not a sofa-bed, is very comfortable nonetheless. We can provide bedding or sleeping bag if necessary. Also the sturdy travel cot/bessinet is stowed behind the couch. The en-suite includes a walk-in shower, basin, and toilet. Handmade Soap Company toiletries (Co. Meath) add a natural, aromatic touch throughout. A dog bed can be provided for your four-legged friend. Outdoors & Views Step onto the elevated deck for sweeping sea views and sights of the Burren. Enjoy outdoor dining with a disposable BBQ or borrow our gas burner. If you wish to put up a tent or by prior arrangement & €20 per night, a tent can be erected in the garden area opposite cottage for children. On booking, you will be instructed as to where the key in a secure lockbox is. Other things to note - We have e-fibre broadband for which we will of course share passwords. - We welcome cyclists and can offer simple cleaning and basic servicing and pumps etc. We have 2 e-bikes available - at a reasonable extra charge might you like to tour locally - 1 each men’s & ladies complete with helmets, pant clips and lock. - Heating in the cottage is easy - dry-lined and insulated, the cottage retains heat well via oil-fired central heating. On the wall above the couch is a timer that's easy to set. This will also heat the water. If, however you wish to heat the water only, another timer is adjacent to the compost bin on the work surface. - There are 2 x bins outside, at the back of the cottage - one green (recycling), and one black for everything else. - When your counter-top compost bin is full, we use an original tumbler drum. We'll be happy to add yours to the mix. - There are two double electrical sockets in the cottage with USB ports. One to the left of the bed and the other to the right of the couch - useful for charging phones, power-banks etc. - We have a Labrador, who is extremely friendly and very well socialised. He loves people and you will probably see him around the property outside. You may hear him barking in the mornings or from time to time, though all other guests have said they did not hear him. His name is Fionn. - We also have a cat, Piscín. He's also well socialised however he will decide if and when he wishes to make your acquaintance. Property is STRICTLY NO SMOKING however, smokers are welcome to smoke outside the property. In any case, cigarettes are just so bad for you!
