Description
Our architect-designed modern barn is situated on 3.7 acres, three blocks from Face Rock Scenic Wayside. This unique location brings the best that nature has to offer – the roar of the ocean, the charm of the forest & the wonder of an infinite night sky. Out the window see deer, wild turkeys, frogs, mallards and more. We are a short walk from Bandon’s beaches known for their exotic rock formations, caves, tunnels and 'Circles in the Sand.' Enter this special world, recharge and get inspired. The space The house -- brand new! -- was designed by a notable southern Oregon architect and completed Fall 2024. The open floor plan features a great room with vaulted ceiling that peaks at 27 feet and a unified design including a catwalk on the second level that runs the length of the house. Five skylights and expansive windows bring the outside in. The contemporary design is accentuated with the warmth of natural materials, including a California chestnut plank floor, European style cabinetry and quartzite counters and kitchen island. Layered lighting and overhead fans add to the ambience. Enjoy high-light, low light and every mood in between. Face Rock Farm was created as a retreat for all seasons by owners who are lovers of sport and creative pursuit. Come for a quiet getaway or enjoy the uplifting space with a group and make memories. At the center, you’ll find a plank dining table that seats eight and a counter island with four comfy stools. In sunny weather, walk the property, explore the beach – or dine, relax or stargaze on the deck. In stormy weather, head out to view the drama of the sea and skies or cozy up and take cover. Whatever the season, gather at the big table for conversation or dig into the game locker and commence play. Tap into our WIFI then plop into a swivel stool by the island. Get cooking in our beautifully equipped kitchen with Samsung Bespoke induction range, microwave, and side-by-side fridge while sipping a Nespresso. Curl up with a page-turner in the well-stocked reading nook. Practice yoga on the catwalk. Or grab a mic and get karaoke-ing. Congregate in the living area on the leather couch lounger and easy chairs. Gather for movie night or the big game around the 55” Smart TV with access to Samsung channels, Netflix and Prime or Air Play off your phone. A DVD player is ready along with an assortment of DVDs (personal collection of the owner who taught college film studies.) Bedrooms Face Rock Farm offers four bedrooms, two up, two down, designed as quiet retreats from the central gathering areas. There is one bathroom on each level located between the bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms are slightly larger, yet all are designed with an egalitarian mindset. All four bedrooms have a queen bed, appointed with a comfy mattress and hotel quality linens. One of the four has a queen with a twin bunk up top. All bedrooms have natural-weave privacy shades – and a wall-mounted reading light on each side of the bed. Each room has a well-lit closet with a 5-drawer solid wood dresser, a rod with hangers, and a shelf. Art collection Face Rock Farm reflects a spare, but curated aesthetic that celebrates creativity and fun. The original art collection includes paintings, photography, prints, ceramics, and sculptures from Northwest artists along with wooden bowls, prints and painting from artists outside the region. A radio locker from the World War II era is reinvented as a game cabinet with hand-painted mythical sea creatures. Metal sculptures rest on the ledge above the kitchen fashioned by one of the owners (a UW Wisconsin hall-of-famer athlete turned sculptor.) The mid-century vibe is unified from the colorful accent walls to patterned shower curtains. Coos County Vacay Rental Permit #252068 Other things to note Room to roam outdoors The 3.74-acre property is a natural wildlife corridor open for guests to walk and explore. There’s a mix of native shrubs, grass, trees and some wetlands. Grounds may be uneven – and contain surprises like an old above-ground culvert in the back of lot -- so take care when walking. (Our property directly west is currently being cleared of gorse so avoid that area.) The house has a patio-deck with a large circular teak table and metal deck chairs. There's wildlife all seasons and outdoor seating and alfresco dining on the patio in summer. Retreat. Connect. Get inspired. Face Rock Farm is not a party house. The owners created it as a sanctuary of sorts, a space to retreat and unwind or to gather and inspire. Whether your passion is golf, nature, literature, photography, painting or building memories with family and friends, you enter a special world here. We are excited to share it with you, hope you will treat it as your own and make reoccurring visits your tradition. We believe spaces have power to spark great things and are interested in hearing what inspirations spawn here.
