Downtown Mount Vernon Hideaway. Riverclay Studio!

Riverclay Studio is hidden away in the alley just a few steps from the Skagit River. Edgewater Park and many popular restaurants, pubs, espresso and entertainment opportunities are within walking distance. It is reached by way of stairs from the back of the original Riverclay Studio which we once ran as a pottery and gallery and was once our home. Our address is also home to Skagit Valley Larder that operates in the downstairs level of the building. The space Appointed for two adult guests. It is a studio apartment with a queen bed, comfortable sofa, full kitchen and bath. Internet TV which you can connect to your own accounts as well as free streaming services. Window air conditioner, fans and white noise machine. Parking for small car at the base of the stairs that give access to the Studio. We are on a busy alley, sometimes we have to negotiate with neighbors. That means there may be people offloading supplies to the Mexican restaurant, beauty school students taking their smoking breaks, etc. There is free public parking overnight on the street. Guest access The entrance to Riverclay Studio is on the Alley which many people use as a thoroughfare, there are murals on the Alley that are enjoyed by the community. The parking space reserved for Riverclay guests is tight. Parking is also available in the free parking lot to the north one block. Street parking is 3 hours at a time and there is a meter maid who does her job. However, the parking limit is from 6 AM to 6 PM so overnight parking is free. We are surrounded by various take out and dining-in options, including Italian, Indian, Thai, Pizza, Korean, Gluten-Free, diners and several pubs that serve really good food. There are grocery stores three blocks either way on First St, including the Skagit Valley Coop which is a wonderful place to explore. No laundry facilities sorry. Laundryland is less than a mile away. Other things to note Riverclay Studio CANNOT tolerate any type of smoking, vaping or candles. NO PETS. Sorry. We are not set up or safe for small children. NO dying of hair. Special towel provided for make-up removal. Downstairs on South First Street is the Skagit Valley Larder, a retail and eating establishment. Their hours are from 11;00 a.m. to about 7;00 p.m. During the Spring and Summer, we can expect them to be open 7 days a week. This generally has not been a problem in that most of our guests are in town for local adventures, classes, work or visiting family from out of town which keep them out of the Studio during business hours. You can expect quiet ambient music downstairs, maybe quiet voices. Perhaps some kitchen sounds. Note that they can hear you as well. We have tried soundproofing but are still working on it.
