The space Casa I Pianacci is located just outside Mercatale Val di Pesa, a charming little hamlet of San Casciano, in the heart of Chianti. It is a charming, recently renovated two-room apartment, located behind the main house, a typical Tuscan stone farmhouse. The unit, with a private entrance, consists of two rooms and a bathroom. The fully equipped brick kitchen includes a microwave, TV, large refrigerator, toaster, electric kettle, espresso machine, and a sofa bed suitable for two children. In the kitchen, guests can use our homemade olive oil, salt, sugar, coffee, tea, and honey. Three steps from the kitchen lead to the bedroom, complete with a wardrobe and dresser, and from there to the bathroom with a shower and bidet. The furnishings are typically Tuscan, with terracotta floors and unique details. The house is equipped with heating, air conditioning, a safe, and free Wi-Fi. The outdoor area is equipped with a table and chairs shaded by olive and fruit trees, a barbecue, a fire pit for warming up on cool spring evenings, and deckchairs and loungers for relaxing. Guests can also use a heated hot tub in the garden for €20.00. Outside, there's a brand-new laundry room with a washing machine and dryer Despite being just a few hundred meters from the village, the house is nestled in the open countryside, surrounded by olive trees and close to the woods. All around, there's only the sound of nature. We will gladly donate to our guests, if available, fresh eggs from our chickens and honey from our bees. The town center, with all amenities, is about 400 meters away. The bus stop connecting Mercatale to San Casciano and Florence is about 300 meters away. The location is convenient for reaching Tuscany's main art cities: Florence is 25 minutes away and Siena 30 minutes. San Casciano and Greve (the closest towns) are 5 and 14 km away, respectively. All the villages of the Chianti Classico region can be reached in less than an hour. In the area, you can rent bicycles and scooters to explore the natural beauty of our hills. A car is not essential, but is recommended for easy travel. A charging point for electric cars is also available in Mercatale. There is a rich network of hiking trails for trekking enthusiasts. The Via Romea Sanese, the Via Francigena, and the new Cammino di San Giovanni Gualberto pass nearby. The area also boasts clean rivers where you can cool off on hot summer days, as well as lakes for sport fishing. In Mercatale, there are tennis courts and a riding stable, and in San Casciano, a beautiful swimming pool surrounded by greenery. In Tavarnelle, you can book a hot air balloon ride to admire the Chianti region from the sky. Finally, for lovers of Tuscan cuisine, there are excellent restaurants and trattorias, as well as numerous wineries offering tastings and wine tours. Just a few kilometers from Mercatale, you can admire the Antinori wineries, named the most beautiful in the world in 2023.
