Amazing location near Venice beach, shops & restaurants on Abbott Kinney, farmers markets, bike trail, marina & the famous Venice canals. Lovely tropical garden & children's playground just next door. Minimum 30 day booking or longer is ideal. The space This lovely home was featured on HGTV! One block from trendy Abbot Kinney in the heart of Venice Beach! Thorough remodel from top to bottom completed over the last few years. New roof, copper plumbing, electrical upgrade, newly painted, frosted glass doors, and birch hardwood flooring throughout. Styling is modern, but warm with high end fixtures and tasteful extras such as quartz countertops, lacquered kitchen cabinets, stainless steel appliances, imported glass tiles, slate tile, recessed lighting, custom teak woodwork, custom closet system, telescoping skylight, dome light, Lutron dimmers, and window treatments throughout. Living in Venice is all about being outside and this house takes full advantage with an award winning tropical garden designed by British celebrity landscaper, featuring an artisan crafted seating area and fence, custom hardscape and a variety of colorful and fragrant plants. Interior decor is a mixture of Asian antiques and Danish modern. Very simple and minimalist with clean lines. There is a new seating area in the kitchen with three chairs (not featured in the photos) and a low to the ground couch that provides another sleeping option (for a child) with ample bedding and linens. Everyone comments that the house has good energy and they love the location. It's small, only 650 square feet including the deck, but cozy, easy to clean and nicely decorated with unique art and photographs. There is a small meditation area in the second bedroom/office/annex area (separated from the main bedroom by frosted glass doors). If you like quality over quantity this will be just the right place for you and your friends/family. Longer term stays are ideal. I also welcome repeat guests. Guest access Please make yourselves at home! There is a fire pit, two beach cruisers with locks & helmets, juicer, French press, iron, hair dryer, fresh linens and towels (more found in office closet), fully equipped kitchen and even a basketball court just next door for your enjoyment. There is no TV. We do have high-speed and reliable wifi to work or stream movies/news on your laptop. Other things to note The second bedroom is small (there isn't much separation between the two bedrooms), but it works great for children or an overnight guest. Please note that this room is separated from the main bedroom by sliding, frosted glass doors, which can be locked, but you are in close proximity to the main bedroom and are sleeping on a day bed. There is a desk and small alter with Buddha. Don't forget to rub his belly and make a wish before you go! There is no TV. Most guests stream the news or movies on their own devices. Fun things to do…take a bike ride to the Venice Pier or marina, explore the canals and Venice walk streets, drive to Hollywood or the Getty Museum, play in the playground next door and really experience all that Venice and LA have to offer! The cottage is heated with electric wall heaters and space heaters (usually not needed) and cooled by fans. Since the weather is temperate it works well.
