We are very close to the water, expect to see wildlife including bugs, lizards, birds, turtles, raccoons, squirrels, and the occasional deer. Regular pest treatments are done both inside and out but it is very easy for pests to slip into the house if doors or windows are left open. LAKE MURRAY WATER LEVELS IN THE WINTER MONTHS: During the winter months, Lake Murray is subject to a scheduled draw-down to support water-quality and shoreline management efforts. For example, the operator plans to lower the lake to about 350 feet elevation (about eight feet below full pool) in early December and then allow it to rise again later. Under “normal” fall/winter conditions (outside of special draw-downs) the lake level is often around 355 feet above sea level, compared to a full-pool elevation near 360 feet.
