This is a true off-grid escape from the hustle and bustle—our dome runs on limited solar-power with no running water and limited cellular service. The simple pellet stove keeps the space warm and inviting on cooler nights. A large, bright outhouse provides a clean and comfortable bathroom experience. There is no fridge or stove in the dome. Cooking can be done on the BBQ or campfire. We provide drinking water and the tools you need to whip up your dinner creation, along with a small cooler in the dome for your essentials during your stay. Bring ice! Yes, you’ll hear a bit of highway vehicles—but it’s part of what makes this place so effortlessly accessible. While it’s not deep-woods quiet, we’ve added little touches to help you relax outside—plus, Kakabeka Falls and local trails are just a short drive away, if that’s your thing. Whether you're celebrating something special, want a break from the everyday or just passing through, this little geodome is a stay you’ll be talking about long after you leave. Guest access Guests have full and exclusive access to the property, however, we ask that guests stay out of the woodshed and the dome's electrical area. As well, we do not recommend guests wander into the wetlands on the north side of the property. Although the wetlands are pretty, the mud is thick and not suitable for walking through. Other things to note The Geodome is a spacious off-grid retreat — more like an upscale, extra-large tent than a traditional cabin. It does not have a fridge, stove, or running water (although we do provide potable water), and there is no air conditioning. While it's thoughtfully equipped for comfort, it’s a back-to-basics nature experience. In the summer months, the dome can get quite warm during the day, so we recommend opening the windows and venting early to let in the breeze. A small cooler is provided to store a few perishable items, and simple outdoor cooking supplies are available.
