Description
A bespoke guesthouse plus secluded cabin on five acres in a quiet, rural neighborhood. A perfect home base or launching pad for your adventures in the North Cascades. The space This is a five acre lot in the hills above Clear Lake, close to Mt. Vernon and Sedro Woolley. It's quiet, comfortable, and serene - there are big panoramic sky views, lots of trees, and a great sunset view in the summer. We are frequently visited by deer, coyote, and plenty of avian friends both large and small! If you're headed east into the mountains, you'll love the easy access to South Skagit Highway and Highway 20. This listing is for TWO separate units that will share a kitchen and bathroom area between them. The Kulshan Loft features a loft-style bedroom, up one long-ish flight of stairs. There you'll find a comfortable queen-sized bed, a small desk space for working, and a record player with very large record collection. On a clear day you also might see a peek-a-boo view of Koma Kulshan (Mt. Baker) from the bedroom. Downstairs, on the entry level, there is a kitchen featuring full refrigerator and freezer, two burner induction cooktop, toaster oven, toaster, electric griddle, sink, and plenty of accoutrements (no full oven - just a tiny adorable toaster oven). The bathroom features a large shower stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The Black Lodge is a stand-alone cabin located in the woods just beyond the main building. This space features a queen bed, wood-burning stove, small coffee / eating nook, sitting area, and a deck. Guest access Kitchen, bathroom, dining, upstairs sleeping loft, dedicated parking space, outdoor patio with sitting furniture, private cabin, deck. Other things to note Our Goldendoodle, Gerry, lives on the property and might be running around. He doesn't go outside unless accompanied by one of us, but you should be aware that running into him is a possibility - just in case you don't care for dogs! Other animals on the property are free-ranging chickens and peacocks. Depending on the season, there is a possibility that you could encounter a less-than-friendly rooster during daylight hours. The rooster mostly stays up by the main house (along with the rest of the chickens) but sometimes gets curious and wanders down to the guest houses. There are brooms and large sticks strategically placed in these areas - please shoo him away if you don't like the way he is looking at you! Anything in the refrigerator is available for guests to use during their stay - usually these are a few beverages and some basic condiments, but when the chickens are active there are farm-fresh eggs as well.
