Below is a full breakdown of the layout, design, and amenities to help you get familiar with the space before your stay. [Common Living Spaces] - Kitchen - Bright and open with sweeping views of Olde Kinderhook Golf Course, the kitchen is the heart of the home. It’s fully stocked with essentials including a coffee maker, cookware, a 4-burner induction stove, pot filler, and a 36" refrigerator. The space includes multiple seating areas—an island and a breakfast nook—making it easy to cook, chat, and hang out. Though the dining room is central, the kitchen was intentionally designed to feel like the hub of the house. - Dining Room - This space features a large table that seats 8 (with room to add a few more chairs for larger groups), dimmable lighting to set the mood, and a beautiful fireplace for ambiance. ***For safety reasons and because it can leave a lingering odor in the house, we kindly ask that you do not use the indoor fireplace—but the outdoor firepit is available and perfect for gathering under the stars. - Living Room - A cozy and quaint space designed for relaxed gatherings or casual downtime. Enjoy fast WiFi and a 55" smart TV with access to Xumo streaming, offering over 350+ live channels. The room also features a beautiful fireplace that adds charm to the space—please note that it is not for use, but the outdoor firepit is available for fires during your stay. There will also be board games available for a fun night in with family or friends. - Sunroom - A peaceful four-season room at the front of the house, perfect for morning coffee, reading, or lounging. With multiple seating areas, a daybed, and views of the surrounding woods and golf course, it’s a great spot to relax any time of day. This space also serves as the home’s secondary entrance/mudroom, accessible through an exterior door. - Reading Nook (Upstairs) - This quiet corner features a cozy chair with a pull-out reading light. There are also nearby drawers and a closet stocked with extra linens and towels. [Outdoor Amenities] - Carriage House & Sauna - A former horse-and-buggy garage turned flexible hangout and dining space with a 3-4 person sauna. Open up the barn doors to enjoy the breeze and indoor/outdoor feel. This space connects to the kitchen through the laundry room/mudroom for easy access. - Fire Pit - Enjoy a night under the stars with a cozy fire surrounded by Adirondack chairs and lounge seating and outdoor grill. [Kinderhook Lake] Just down the street from the house, Kinderhook Lake offers a peaceful spot for fishing, kayaking, or simply enjoying the views. The lake spans 345 acres and is home to a variety of fish including Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Yellow Perch, Chain Pickerel, and White Perch—great for both casual anglers and experienced fishers. The lake is typically raised in early to mid-April and lowered around mid to late October, depending on the season. Occasionally, the lake is treated for maintenance, and swimming or boating is restricted for 24 hours afterward. You can check for treatment notices and updates on the site below. If you plan to bring a motorized boat, New York State requires all operators to complete a Safe Boating Course and earn a certificate by 2025. Courses are available both in-person and online for anyone 10 years or older. For more details, lake updates, and boating resources, visit "The Kinderhook Lake Corp" and "Lake Link" page!
