Description

Situated on our 1500 acre Rocky Mountain horse ranch, the Chalet sits privately at the edge of an enchanted, forest overlooking a spectacular view of hay fields, the Fraser River and the Cariboo mountain range; modern amenities in the Rockies. The space Very private and quiet where guests can enjoy their stay in a location that is exclusive to only themselves. Guest access Guests will have to use their own private vehicle to access our accommodation. Welcome to the Robson Valley. Driving Directions from Vancouver Via Kamloops: From Kamloops it will take you about 4 hours to reach the town of Valemount on Hwy #5. You may want to stop there for any last minute groceries at the IGA Food Store on 5th Ave. From Valemount we are approximately 20 minutes drive and/or 25 Km; When you leave Valemount( or pass through) on Hwy #5 heading North you will soon reach a Hwy juntion where #5 meets Hwy # 16. Here #5 crosses over the Fraser river and you need to stay to the right and exit onto 'Hwy #16 West to McBride and Prince George' ( its a tight, right turn around to exit). Driving Directions from Edmonton or Calgary Via Jasper: Once in Jasper head west on Highway #16. Approximetely one hour into the drive you will pass Mt.Robson cafe and tourist information centre on your right and 10 minutes beyond this landmark you will arrive at the junction of highway #5 & #16. At this junction stay to your right looking for the signs which read " Hwy #16 West to McBride & Prince George. From this junction we are about 8 Km up Hwy #16 on your left. You won't see much on your left for the long climb up the hill but when the road finally descends a little you will see hay fields, brown fences and our house is close to the Hwy with a bright red roof. You will see our Hwy sign that will say both 'Fiddle River Farm' and 'Upper Fraser Ranch' and the street number will read 13531. Your check in time is 4:00 pm or after but we can be flexible to a degree. We are out working on the ranch for the most part but we carry our cell phone with us so you are welcome to text ( # (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)) and/or leave a message on our land line in the farm house ( # (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)) so we can be in our yard to meet and greet you when you arrive. Cell reception can be sketchy through the mountains but a signal is usually found near towns and smaller centers. For example, on your way you can text/phone us from the towns of 'Blue River' and or 'Jasper' which are about an hour from our farm or Valemount which is only about 20-25 minutes from us. Other things to note Please note that interior access to the upstairs loft bedroom/TV sitting rooms is via a loft-style staircase. This set of stairs is slightly steeper than a standard staircase would normally be. As an alternative to this interior staircase the Chalet now features an exterior staircase access for the upper decks and upstairs loft bedroom/TV sitting rooms. Please keep in mind that you will be staying in a wilderness setting where there could be potential encounters with wildlife including mosquitoes in the early summer months.
