Description
A perfect location for a multi-generational or group holiday to the New Forest. No stag or hen do's. Located on a large, private estate in Burley, ideally located for beaches or the open forest. Plenty of hot water, bathrooms, kitchen space, socialising and eating spaces. Books and games galore for little ones, plus a separate kids playroom if the adults want some quieter time. Generously-equipped kitchens, deer in the garden, sheep in the paddocks - for your dream New Forest vacation! The space There are 7 bedrooms in the property, 5 with twin single beds that can be combined to make super-king beds (linen provided) to suit the configuration you would like. There is also a comfy sofa bed in the smaller sitting room/children's play room. a photo of the floorplan shows which beds can be converted to twins. One bedroom has an ensuite shower, the others share 3 full bath/ shower rooms and there is an additional toilet. 2 of the bedrooms are on the ground floor as is one of the shower rooms. There are 2 kitchens, each with kettle, sink, double oven, microwave, hob, fridge, dishwasher. There are 2 washers and 2 driers, 2 central heating systems and large hot water tanks, providing ample hot water for large groups. The main kitchen has been praised for its very generous stocking of all manner of cooking pots, dishes and ample crockery, glassware, serving ware and cutlery both for inside and outside eating. Two staircases provide hours of entertainment for children playing hide and seek. There is one very large sitting room with several sofas and a TV, plus a long, extendable dining table and chairs. There is a second, smaller sitting room filled with children's toys, a separate tv and DVD player and lots of entertainment for the children in the group, and a sofa bed if needed. Separate fold out mattresses are available if required so that children can be flexible about sleeping arrangments. There are two patios, one catches the morning sunshine and one the afternoon and evening. They have ample seating for outdoor dining, should the weather allow. Deer (many dozens of them) roam free on the estate and are likely to eat their breakfast on the lawn. There are sheep in the paddocks and we are happy to introduce to any recent lambs in the spring. For these reasons, only well-behaved dogs are welcome and they must be kept on a lead on the property and all poo picked up, wrapped well and disposed of hygeinically in the lined dustbins. There is access onto a public footpath from the driveway, which takes you out onto the open Forest. Maps and walks can be advised upon and provided if needed. Guest access Guests have full use of the cottage, the private gravelled parking areas (not the tarmac driveway of the main house please), the garden and the patios. There is no access to the private woodland of the estate, but a public footpath off the driveway takes you down towards the village of Burley or up to the open forest tracks and views. Other things to note The wifi at the Cottage is very basic, sporadic and probably much lower quality than you will be used to. Unfortunately, nothing can be done about this so if you require fast, super-efficient broadband on your holiday then I am afraid you are better off looking elsewhere.
