Our waterfront location has stunning views of Concepcion & Maderas Volcanos. We are nestled in Maderas National Park, the surrounding lush areas add to the natural beauty. We offer modern amenities, free high speed internet/wifi (we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service), tv, hot water, air conditioning and ceiling fans. The space Our property is truly a paradise. It is waterfront land with views of both Concepcion & Maderas Volcanos. Casa Del Lago is located on a natural unspoiled coastline. It is a rocky shoreline in which flora and fauna flourish! A place to kick back and relax, and a luxurious spot to come back to after discovering all of the incredible things that Isla de Ometepe has to offer! A bird lovers dream as there are so many different varieties of birds that come to the high majestic Ceiba trees on our property. Ometepe is home to one of the largest remaining populations of the Yellow-Naped Parrot. Amazingly these endangered parrots come to visit our trees almost daily in the early afternoon. It is quite a sight to see such rare beauty! Howler Monkeys also come to the high canopy to feed in the early hours of the morning and the evening. They are beautiful animals, they stay up high and never come down. You will undoubtedly get some great photos of them in their natural habitat. We designed our open concept home to have high ceilings (10 ft, 3m), lots of windows and a large sunroom with stunning views of Lake Colcibolca and Concepcion Volcano. As an added bonus from the front of our house you can also see Maderas Volcano! The front porch has two Madero Negro tree posts and a cosy spot for a hammock. The living room has two large super comfortable couches, local hardwood coffee table and a flat screen TV. The Master bedroom is large with a comfortable King size bed. The floor to ceiling ventilated wooden closets and bedside tables are made from local natural hardwood. It has a large ceiling fan and a quiet air conditioning unit. There are several secure & screened windows allowing for the natural breezes to come in. In addition there are hangers in the closet as well as shelves. There is also a large mirror in the bedroom. The Master bedroom ensuite bathroom is magnificently tiled and spacious, the shower is equipped with a large rainshower head. Modern dual flush toilet and large well lit sink area with large mirror. The second bedroom has large secure screened windows. It consists of a locally made, hand crafted locally sourced wooden bunk bed and two single beds, a large mirror and a big ventilated closet with shelving, hangers and drawers. The main bathroom is beautifully tiled, modern dual flush toilet and nice sized sink area, excellent lighting, with & large lit mirror. The shower is spacious & well lit. All house water is UV filtered. Our home has solar heated water, bio-digesters and recycling of gray water. We recently have added solar power to our home! We offer surge protectors for the outlets throughout the home. There is LED lighting throughout Casa Del Lago. We have beautiful hand crafted wooden furniture, 3 rocking chairs and a table which can be taken outside to watch sunsets on one of the terraces. We also have a solid wood outdoor picnic table to enjoy meals outside if you would like to. Wander around the grounds filled with a variety of fruit trees, flowers, and coffee bushes. These include mango, coconut trees and passionfruit vines. Feel free to eat any of the fruits during your stay. Although Ometepe Island is a very safe place, we do have bars on all of the windows for additional security. We also offer free parking on site. No pets allowed. Isla de Ometepe is a tropical Island that is a UNESCO biosphere. There is a stunning array of flora and fauna. You will be in awe of the different species of animals. We have done our best to keep the insects out of our home by installing full screens on all windows. However there is a possibility that some may make their way in. Most of the insects are harmless. Just to note that there is only one venomous snake on the Island, the coral snake. They are quite reclusive and are rarely sighted. House Manual available online after check in. Other things to note **Please be aware that the absolute maximum number of guests is 6 people, no exceptions. Only registered guests will be allowed to stay.** No guests. We only do rentals for a maximum of 2 weeks. For stays longer than 2 days housekeeping will come in and clean every second day. This is included in the cost. Laundry service available for a fee upon request, message for details. I suggest bringing cash for convenience as the majority of Ometepe is cash only. There are only 2 ATM's on the Island. We do have exterior cameras in the driveway and around the exterior of the home. We do have solar system capability because of frequent electricity outages on the island. Most times it powers the house with the exception of the air conditioners.
