Splendid en-suite bedroom with a King size bed.. A very spacious and private veranda - built in BBQ which can also be used as a fire to burn a few logs for atmosphere, garden table. Ideal for one couple wishing to relax away from hectic life. No children, nor infant. Public footpath, bike rides, beach only 2 miles away, tennis court on site. The space "Hedgehog" lodge - our latest newly built eco-friendly lodge - opened in December. . Hedgehog is nestled within our private Hayne Barn Estate and provides a haven of rustic charm, offering the ideal setting for a rejuvenating escape with your own private wood-fired hot tub. From the moment you arrive, you will be immersed in the serenity of nature, surrounded by the beauty of our carefully maintained grounds. "Hedgehog" is on the private and splendid grounds of Hayne Barn Estate; it is cosy, comfortable, fully equipped with high specifications and fully heated for winter retreats. We have 5 other delightful ecolodges nearby, all very private, completely separated by trees and hazelnut woven fences, making it very attractive for few couples to spend time together and remaining totally independent. The whole area in the woodlands is available to our guests, but our property and grounds remain private. Thank you for respecting. Ample parking. Easy to find. Step inside this rustic lodge where you will be welcomed by a comfy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner decorated in calming natural tones that are enhanced by the outdoor surroundings. Hedgehog is tucked away in a secluded wooded area. Comfy sofas, perfect spot to enjoy watching the Smart TV or an evening of board games, whilst the well-equipped kitchen area offers everything you may need for whipping up a delicious meal that can be enjoyed at the dining table. The lodge is fully heated. Hedgehog lodge offers a delightful retreat, with one double bedroom and an en-suite bathroom. It is perfect for couples seeking a tranquil get away to ensure an unforgettable stay with lasting memories. No children, nor infant in Squirrel, but we do take one extra child in Wood pecker lodge or Pheasant lodge. Enjoy some outdoor relaxation. The private spacious decking, adorned with a private barbecue and complete private wood-fired hot tub, creates a perfect atmosphere to relax and admire the stars on a clear night. The 2 deckings extend outwards to provide a sun trap on warmer days where you will find an outdoor table and seating. The BBQ can be dual propose either as a charcoal BBQ or a fire pit for those chilly evening. Hedgehog lodge has an outdoor drying room for wet coats and boots, and a covered seating area which is perfect for listening to the sounds of nature, whatever the weather may be. Ample parking on private estate. Google Hayne Barn Estate – our private estate for full description - 20 minutes walk to Saltwood village, where buses go to Hythe and Folkestone. 8 minutes walk across the woods to Sandling station which has regular links to London, Dover and Folkestone but if it rains you need to follow the road and that takes 35 minutes. We do not recommend you walk through the woods at night. A car is recommended but for those who enjoy walking or cycling it is not a problem. Taxis are available. You can also come by train to Sandling station and we can give you the walking instructions to walk to us via the woodlands. (12 minutes walk). The pretty town of Hythe is just 2 miles away and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a beach for enjoying a sport of swimming or water sports. For those wanting to explore further afield, Port Lympne Safari (just 5 miles away) and makes for a great day out.Enjoy the 25% discount we offer our guests. Slightly further is Dover Castle (13 miles) and the historical city of Canterbury (18 miles) with its Cathedral and Marlowe Theatre. Take a stroll along the Royal Military Canal which is a great way to see the local area. Tennis enthusiasts can enjoy our on site indoor and outdoor tennis courts. Courts must be booked and please bring your own equipment. Keen walkers can explore the Saxon Shore footpath (150m away) - maps available. Cyclists can explore the cycling trails or just rent an e-bike to discover the area. Explore the area on two wheels : we have partnered with a fantastic bike rental company that will drop off and pick up. Follow us on haynebarnestate on the social medias. Guest access DIRECTION BY CAR Leave the M20 at junction 11 – 5 Minutes from Junction 11. Directions will be sent to you 48 hours beofre arrival with your Unique Entry Code. TRAIN – SANDLING STATION On arrival at Sandling Station from Ashford, cross the bridge to reach the main station entrance. Walk diagonally across the car park towards the righthand corner, heading towards the woodland. You’ll see a footpath: it starts wide and soon narrows to a single-track path. Follow the path and continue up the steps. You’ll then reach a wide, well established footpath. Turn left and continue straight ahead. You’ll join a driveway and shortly arrive at a small crossroads. Hayne Barn Estate is clearly signposted on the left. The lodges are immediately on your left as you enter. The walk takes around 10 minutes in total. We do not advise walking this route after dark or in wet weather. Local taxi company. Parts of the walk use country lanes, so please take care and stay safe. Please park in an ordelry fashion for other guests to maneuver easily Other things to note PREPARE YOUR STAY - HOT TUB INSTRUCTIONS : Your box is in the drying your under the veranda - except for Woodpecker where it is in a box on the decking - and contains : Kindling wood, firelighter and lighter, and briquettes for the hot-tub. 1 bag of charcoal for the BBQ use only. Do not use Charcoal to light the hot-tub. It may take up to 2.5 to 3 hours to heat up 100 L of water. So start early. We do not light the hot -tub for our guests.
