Newly built house with lake-shaped pool and bridge to dining area with large rustic wood table with trunks for storing ice and drinks. Surrounded by nature, the house boosts a barbecue and outdoor gourmet area, private beach-vibe garage and stone garden with plants of the Amazon rainforest. Only 950m away from the beaches of the “Enchanted Forest” and 2.9km away from the touristic centre of Alter do Chão, famous for the paradisaic beach of Ilha do Amor with Amazonian cuisine and artisanal shops. The space The cozy “Casa da Lagartixa” house is perfect for families, couples or groups of friends looking for a classy yet fun place to stay to properly experience the Amazon. Enclosed by trees the house often receives visitors from wildlife such as toucans, frogs and monkeys. Of course the gecko, known as lagartixa in Portuguese, are often found and hence we made the theme of the house with various gecko features, most obviously the engraving of the garage door but keep an eye out and you will find more geckos. Free wifi is provided. There is an indoor kitchen and an outdoor gourmet area. Both rooms are suites and very spacious. In each room a large super kind size bed is found as well as a bunk bed which was designed to also be used as a sofa. Air-conditioning, hot showers and hammocks are provided to ensure the comfort of our guests. Guest access Apart from visiting the various beaches, lakes and rivers near Alter do Chão where fantastic views of wildlife and sunsets can be seen, dont forget to also visit Santarém which has a stunning viewpoint where you can see the encounter of the waters of the Amazon river with the Tapajos river. Moreover, visit lovely food market called Mercadão 2000 and the local fish market to see the biodiversity of the Amazon. You can even see pink river dolphins off the side of the fish market in the river.
