Passiflore Gîte
Description
🌱 Welcome to Les Masades, an ecovillage in the Cévennes National Park! Enjoy a peaceful and rejuvenating stay in this serene natural environment. Whether you’re traveling with family, as a couple, or solo, this distinctive destination at the crossroads of Gard, Lozère, and Ardèche is perfect for relaxation and tranquility. A wide range of outdoor activities awaits you nearby: hiking, swimming in Lake Villefort or the Chassezac River, and treetop adventures. The space The Passiflore gîte is a traditional Cévennes stone house. Access is via a private outdoor terrace. On the ground floor, you’ll find the living room and kitchen, as well as a first bedroom with three single beds. Upstairs, there is the bathroom and a second bedroom with a double bed. The toilets are dry toilets, helping to preserve the water from our spring, which is especially precious during summer. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stovetop, oven, utensils, coffee makers/teapots so you can fully enjoy your stay. Through the windows of the gîte, you can admire breathtaking views of the mountains and the surrounding landscape. From the gîte, you have access to the shared spaces of the Masades ecovillage. The village square is a place for sharing and conviviality, where guests and residents of the Masades can meet and connect. The natural swimming pond is another relaxing spot, with its wooden deck and sun loungers to enjoy the summer sun. The pond is fed by our natural spring and naturally filtered through reeds. It is usually swimmable from late May to late July, after which the water flow becomes too low to maintain the pond. You can also discover the Masades boutique, which offers handcrafted goods and services made by artisans from the hamlet: basketry, herbal teas, honey, jewelry, and more. A wifi access point and coworking space are available nearby. 4G internet is also available outdoors throughout the ecovillage, although the signal may be weaker inside the stone buildings. Upon reservation, you can enjoy on-site Rebozo relaxation treatments offered by one of the residents of the ecovillage, organic breakfasts, or electric bike rentals to explore the surrounding region. Nearby, you can discover many tourist attractions: - Numerous hiking trails for day trips starting directly from the Masades or nearby (Mont Lozère, Païolive Forest) - Natural swimming spots (Lake Villefort, Chassezac Gorges, Mazet Plage) - Electric bike rides (we offer electric bike rentals) - Local markets (Les Vans, Villefort) - Local heritage sites (La Garde Guérin) - Tree-climbing park (Accroparc du Mas de l'Ayre) 🛏️ Sleeping arrangements in the gîte: - One bedroom with a double bed (140 x 200 cm) - One bedroom with three single beds (90 x 200 cm) - One sofa bed for two people - One folding baby cot (65 x 120 cm) and an adjustable high chair available upon request The house is supplied with untreated but drinkable spring water. In summer, it’s important to use water sparingly. Bed linens and towels are not provided; please bring your own. Rental is possible on-site upon prior request. In autumn and winter, the living room and kitchen are heated by a wood-burning stove. Two additional electric heaters are available for the bedrooms. For your comfort, we recommend bringing closed-toe shoes and headlamps or flashlights to move around safely at night. Guest access Access is by car from Les Vans or Villefort. The last few kilometers are along a winding mountain road, but the view is breathtaking! You will then arrive halfway up the valley, at the heart of the ecovillage, where you can park your car in the designated parking area. Other things to note 🧘🏼♀️ At our ecovillage, we have chosen a lifestyle that is close to nature: vegetarian, smoke-free, and alcohol-free. For this reason, we kindly ask you not to consume meat, fish, or alcohol in shared spaces. Thank you in advance for your understanding!
