Within a 30km/20 mile radius you can explore exquisite beaches, ancient antiquities, dinosaur remains, golf courses, vineyards and wineries, surfing - including the surfing meccas of Nazare and Peniche - plus various religious and cultural sites. Widen your net to 60km/40 miles and you will discover UNESCO Heritage sites, even more stunning pristine beaches, caves, excavated Roman ruins, legendary Fatima, Tomar, Sintra, Batalha, Mafra, Alcobaca and of course the capital city of Lisbon to name just a few. For nature lovers, you can see first-hand birds of prey, flamingoes and numerous other species in their natural habitats.
