Explore our seasonal outdoor mushroom forest, where gourmet shiitake, lion’s mane, morel, and oyster mushrooms grow naturally on hand-cut local logs. Families can join in the fun with our maple sap tapping kits, learning how to collect and taste syrup straight from our trees. For an indoor adventure, schedule a visit to our U-Pick Shroomery, where you can harvest mushrooms in a guided climate-controlled space. Guests of all ages can enjoy hands-on lessons about mushrooms, trees, and woodsmanship, making learning part of the adventure. After exploring, gather in our well-stocked kitchen to cook your freshly picked mushrooms for dinner and enjoy a maple-syrup breakfast made from our own trees. Relax by our inland fishing pond or the nearby lake for a peaceful, nature-filled escape that celebrates Ohio’s finest farm-to-table experiences. Ample flat land to play multiple ballgames with family. Basic soccer, field hockey, volleyball, pickleball, tennis, badminton, mountain bike on lawn for family fun. Available basic fishing pole, lures, baits, casting net and baiting net as well as life vests of different sizes and emergency oars. Small basic rough golf course over a few acres with golf sets. This can be very fun with family and friends, although this course is not a professional, manicured and maintained 18 hole course. Multiple Fire-pit and cauldron pits with large tripod next to the lake as well as next to the house. Another mobile fire-pit and a wood chip/charcoal grill also available. Ample wood can be found on the property. Seasonal hunting potential: Deer, rabbit, duck/geese, birds. Hunting insurance required. Inside games: Poker and blackjack with extra large poker and blackjack boards, chess, backgammon, cards, Uno, scrabble, monopoly, Port Clintonopoly, Quatro, and kid games. Mobile billiard top and air hockey top. Catawba preserved marshland views are now a rarity. North west Ohio was all part of great US black swamps which were later drained for settlers in 1800s. Only 0.03 percent of the marshland is left intact as of 2025, which shows how Ohio was before settlers arrived. Separate rental agreement for lakeside and boats needed. Hunting agreement and insurance required for hunters as well. Maneuvering the sail of a sailboat has a learning curve and some level of caution is advised. Extra beds and futon available depending on number of guests. Outdoor security cameras available for guest protection and hunting. No indoor or beach cameras. Cameras will be turned off after guest arrival unless requested to stay on by guests.
