Welcome to La Bergerie! After 2 1/2 years of major renovations, we are happy to finally be able to start welcoming our guests in this haven of peace nestled in the vaulted cellars of an old sheepfold. Ideally located on the edge of the Beynon Forest which marks the entrance to the Baronnies Provençales Park. Easily accessible from the A51 highway exit, perfect for exploring the Baronnies, but also around Gap to Champsaur and Lake Serre Ponçon! The space The Gîte La Bergerie is spacious (80 m2) but very atypical since it was built in the vaulted cellars of an old sheepfold built in the 18th century. Only the 2nd bedroom is furnished in a more traditional room. In this 2nd bedroom you can choose the configuration of the beds, either 4 single beds or 2 single beds and a 1.60 x 2.00 m bed. Just let me know when you book. Note: in this 2nd bedroom there is a stained glass window that lets the sun's rays pass through in the morning. Remember to bring sleep masks if daylight wakes you up, in case you forget we can provide them. We have carried out major work to restore the Durance stone, which is the main material in the construction of the building. The stone walls of the old vaulted cellars have been completely re-joined with lime, which gives a crazy charm to the whole. The temperature is always extremely pleasant and you feel wrapped like in a cocoon. The second bedroom, which is very sunny, is equipped with an air conditioning heat pump which makes it possible to maintain a very pleasant temperature in the entire accommodation. In winter the accommodation has underfloor heating powered by an air/water heat pump like the rest of the building. Wi-Fi on request at no extra cost. Note that the vault height of the bathroom is significantly lower than that of the other rooms, (only 1.97 m at the highest point). That's why we've provided a stool for tall people to shower comfortably. To make the most of your private terrace, an electric plancha is at your disposal. The kitchen is super equipped. The freezer remains plugged in during the summer but will be plugged in on request the rest of the time. Guest access All areas described in the listing are reserved for you. Only the parking, washing machine room and pool are shared. Access to the pool is forbidden for unaccompanied children. For safety reasons, it is also forbidden to jump and run on the beaches. The pool is open 6 months out of 12. Opening and closing dates may fluctuate depending on the weather. Other things to note We have chosen to make the Domaine de Faye a place dedicated to calm and serenity in order to offer you the opportunity to come and relax and rest there after your visits to the surrounding area. There are 3 accommodations on the property, our main residence as well as 2 cottages. Each accommodation is completely independent and not overlooked in order to respect each other's privacy. Each also has a very independent private outdoor area. Depending on the year and the weather, the pool can remain open for up to 6 months a year as it is heated to 28°C thanks to a heat pump powered by our solar panels.
