Welcome to La Bergerie! After 2 1/2 years of major renovations, we are happy to finally be able to start welcoming our guests in this haven of peace nestled in the vaulted cellars of an old sheepfold. Ideally located on the edge of the Beynon Forest which marks the entrance to the Baronnies Provençales Park. Easily accessible from the A51 highway exit, perfect for exploring the Baronnies, but also around Gap to Champsaur and Lake Serre Ponçon! The space The Gîte La Bergerie is spacious (80m2) but very atypical sinceit was put into the vaulted cellars of an old sheepfold built in the 18th century. Only the 2nd bedroom is set in a more traditional room. In this 2nd bedroom you can choose the sleeping arrangements, either 4 single beds or 2 single beds and a bed 1.60 x 2.00m. Just let me know when you book. Note: in this 2nd bedroom there is a stained glass window that lets the sunshine through in the morning. Remember to provide sleep masks if the daylight wakes you up, if you forget we can provide them. We have done major restoration work on the Durance Stone which is the main material in the construction of the building. The stone walls of the old vaulted cellars have been fully joined to the lime which restores a crazy charm to the whole. The temperature is always extremely pleasant and you feel wrapped like a cocoon. The second bedroom which is very sunny, is equipped with an A/C cap which makes it possible to keep a very pleasant temperature in the entire accommodation. In winter, the accommodation benefits from underfloor heating powered by an air/water cap like everything else in the building. WIFI on request at no extra cost. Note that the height under the vault of the bathroom is significantly lower than that of the other rooms, (only 1.97m at the highest point). This is the reason why we have made a stool available to tall people so that they can shower comfortably. To make the most of your private terrace, an electric plancha is available to you. Kitchen is super equipped. The freezer remains plugged in during the summer but will be plugged in on request the rest of the time. Regarding sleeping arrangements, there is a vaulted bedroom with a queen-size bed, and the large room overlooking the southeast terrace is divided into 2 sleeping areas separated by a bookcase, with 2 possible configurations: either 4 single beds (2 on each side of the bookcase) or 2 single beds and 1 queen-size bed. Simply specify your needs at the time of booking. N.B./Upon request, a folding crib can be set up in the vaulted bedroom. Guest access All areas described in the listing are reserved for you. Only the parking, washing machine room and pool are shared. Access to the pool is forbidden for unaccompanied children. For safety reasons, it is also forbidden to jump and run on the beaches. The pool is open 6 months out of 12. Opening and closing dates may fluctuate depending on the weather. Other things to note We have chosen to make the Domaine de Faye a place dedicated to calm and serenity in order to offer you the opportunity to come and relax and rest there after your visits to the surrounding area. There are 3 accommodations on the property, our main residence as well as 2 cottages. Each accommodation is completely independent and not overlooked in order to respect each other's privacy. Each also has a very independent private outdoor area. Depending on the year and the weather, the pool can remain open for up to 6 months a year as it is heated to 28°C thanks to a heat pump powered by our solar panels.
